Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of antiseptic and natural care in the process of umbilical cord mummification in newborns attended at a maternity hospital(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-07-17) Salvador Vilcapoma, Jessica Lizet; Matta Solis, Hernán HugoObjective: To systematically analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of antiseptic and natural care in the process of mummification of the umbilical cord of newborns treated in a maternity hospital. Material and Methods: The systematic observational and retrospective review of scientific articles found on antiseptic care and natural in the process of falling off the umbilical cord. These databases were cited: Pubmed, Chronane, Scielo, Dialnet; of 10 articles found and evaluated according to the Grade scale to establish their strength and quality as evidence. It is analyzed that 50% (n= 5/10) are clinical trials, 10% (n= 1/10) are meta-analyses, 30% (n= 3/10) are descriptive and 10% (n=1/10) are descriptive. 10) It is quasi-experimental, 60% (n=1/11) are a systematic review, 20% (n= 4/11) are a randomized clinical trial. (RCT) 3 prospective. Results: Of the 10 articles found, 80% point out that antiseptics, especially chlorhexidine, are effective in healing, but they have the effect of lengthening the period of cord detachment, being counterproductive to the healing process. Likewise, 70% of the articles point out other care alternatives such as natural ones, although they do not optimally interfere with disinfection, they also help shorten the lifespan of the umbilical cord without complications. Conclusion: 7 of 10 articles found point out the effectiveness of using natural care to reduce the lifespan of the umbilical cord, also showing that it does not produce a risk of the appearance of infections.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of chlorhexidine in preventing neonatal omphalitis(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-12) Castro Curi, Sabina; Ruiz Ramirez, Greicith; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerThe World Health Organization urges that the umbilical stump be kept free from secretions or other contaminating agents, dry, and without bandages or gauze that could delay healing. As for chlorhexidine, it is important to know that it is the antiseptic of choice for hospital care of the umbilical cord. It has been used for many years in healthcare settings to reduce the risk of infections. Its broad spectrum makes it effective against the microorganisms commonly responsible for perinatal infections.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of skin antisepsis with chlorhexidine compared to other antiseptics for the prevention of infections in patients requiring a peripheral venous catheter(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-09-22) Martinez Vera, Yasmina Tatiana; Rosales Clemente, Raquel Nelly; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioObjective: Systematize the patents on the effectiveness of skin antisepsis for the prevention of infection in patients who require the use of a peripheral venous catheter. Materials and Methods: Systematic Reviews are scientific inquiries, where the element of exploration is the unique primary works. It is a fundamental instrument for the synthesis of scientific reference, increasing the value of study results and in turn identifying areas that need to be investigated. It is executed using a strict methodology and high quality control to avoid erroneous conclusions. The investigation is limited to writings with complete content. Those chosen were subjected to a thorough investigation, using the grade system that allowed us to record the strength of recommendation. From the final choice, 10 articles were selected, of which we found that 20% (02) belong to the country of Japan and France, while 10% (01) correspond, respectively, to Canada, Portugal, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. , United States and Ireland. Among the randomized clinical trials we find studies from Canada, the United Kingdom, France with 70% and systematic reviews from Portugal, the United States and Singapore with 30%. Results: Of all the articles analyzed, 80% affirm that chlorhexidine is more effective than the use of other antiseptics in preventing infections. Conclusions: The research reviewed shows that there is effectiveness of skin antisepsis with chlorhexidine compared to other antiseptics in preventing infections in patients requiring a peripheral venous catheter.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of topical products for the treatment of dermatitis associated with incontinence in geriatric patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-05) Bardón Matos, Ruth María; Vilcapoma Aire, Ruth; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoMaterial and Methods: The Systemic Review of international research articles is carried out, which have been obtained by searching the databases: PubMed, Elsevier, Scielo, and Science Direct, which have been chosen and analyzed using the GRADE System to locate the respective degree of evidence. The search for articles was carried out using the DECS and MESH descriptors for the search in Spanish and English respectively. Results: It is observed that when evaluating the articles, the result was that 20% (2/10) of the articles reviewed correspond to Belgium, 10% (1/10) of the articles reviewed correspond to Italy, the 10% (1/10) corresponds to England, 10% (1/10) corresponds to the United States, 10% (1/10) corresponds to Australia, 10% (1/10) corresponds to the Philippines, 10% (1/10) corresponds to Ireland, 10% (1/10) corresponds to Portugal and 10% (1/10) corresponds to Spain. Conclusions: It is found that 7 of the 10 evidence studied conclude that there is little evidence, of very low to moderate quality, on the effectiveness of interventions to prevent and treat incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) in the geriatric population.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of central venous catheters impregnated with antiseptics and/or anti-bacterials for the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients across different services(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-07) Cajo Luque, Carla Roxana; Castro Lecca, Jose Luis; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjectives: Determine the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing bloodstream infections in patients. Methodology: The systematic review of the 9 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients, were found in the following databases Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo , Medline Pubmed, all of them were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 56% (5/9) show the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing blood flow. While 33% (3/9) show that it is not effective, 11% (1/9) are indifferent to the study carried out. Conclusions: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 56% (5/9) show the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing blood flow.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of chlorhexidine gluconate vs povidone iodine to prevent infections in the surgical wound of the surgical patient(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Coronado Vega, Amanda Adelina; Pizango Campos, Verith; Remuzgo Artezano, AnikaSystematic Review, in which 9 articles were selected; those that were analyzed and subjected to evaluation according to the GRADE system to identify their quality of evidence and strength of recommendation; The search strategy was in the Cochrane Group, Lilacs and Pubmed. According to the selected articles, we find that 60% (5/9) are from the United States; 10% (1/9) is from the United Kingdom, India, Brazil and Bolivia respectively. Of the articles analyzed, 70% affirm that chlorhexidine gluconate is more effective in preventing infections in the surgical wound of the surgical patient; However, the other 30% affirm that there is no significant difference between both antiseptics.
