Publicación Acceso abierto Factores culturales, biológicos y automedicación de ivermectina en tiempos de pandemia en trabajadores del mercado Gambetta del pueblo joven Néstor Gambetta Baja distrito de la Provincia Constitucional del Callao. 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-30) Contreras Ponce, Daisha Raquel; Puma Paucar, Yuli; Guadalupe Sifuentes de Posadas, Luz FabiolaThe objective of this research was to determine the relationship between cultural and biological factors and self-medication with Ivermectin during the pandemic among workers at the Gambetta market. Method: This study used a quantitative approach, a basic type, a non-experimental design, and a correlational level. The sample consisted of 213 people over 18 years old, to whom a self-developed, expert-validated instrument was applied. The technique was a 16-question survey. For statistical analysis, SPSS version 25 and the Chi-squared test of independence were used. Results: A significant statistical association was found between the "learned habits" and "symptoms" dimensions, specifically between the indicators for drug acquisition and unwanted symptoms. An association was also found between the "need for consumption" and "frequency of use" dimensions, linking the reason for self-medication with the duration of self-medication. Furthermore, an association was found between the "media" and "frequency of use" dimensions, linking media influence with the quantity consumed. However, no association was found between the "age group" and "complementary medication" dimensions. Conclusion: An association exists between cultural factors and self-medication with Ivermectin, but no significant association was found between the biological factor and self-medication with Ivermectin among workers at the Gambetta market in the Néstor Gambetta Baja shantytown during the pandemic.
