Ítem Acceso abierto Physical exercise as an effective intervention for lowering glycosylated hemoglobin in adult patients with type II diabetes mellitus.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-04) Mendoza Virú, Cristina Bernardina; Meneses Li, Gloria Ysabel; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleObjective: To systematically analyze the available evidence from studies conducted on physical exercise as an effective intervention for the reduction of glycated hemoglobin in adult patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Materials and Methods: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles found on physical exercise as an effective intervention for the reduction of glycated hemoglobin in adult patients with type II diabetes mellitus was conducted using the following databases: Lilacs, Scielo, Medline, Pubmed, Dialnet, and Epistemonikos. All of them were analyzed using the GRADE scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 100% (10/10) demonstrate that physical exercise reduces blood glycated hemoglobin levels, improving metabolic control and the quality of life of adult patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 10 out of 10 provide evidence that physical exercise is an effective intervention for the reduction of glycated hemoglobin in adult patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
