Ítem Acceso abierto Most Common Alterations of Seminal Parameters in Patient Samples; Biogénesis Laboratory, Lima 2016(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-02-07) Salvatierra Maza, Paola Luz; Villegas Gómez, Lucy Faustina; Sandoval Vegas, Miguel HernánThe objective of the study was to determine the most frequent alterations in seminal parameters, according to the criteria described by the WHO (2010), in samples from patients who visited the Biogénesis laboratory in Lima during 2016. It was a quantitative, clinical, retrospective, cross-sectional, and descriptive study; the design was a non-interventional study. A total of 231 patient results that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed; of these, 121 (52.4%) results came from patients without any alterations, and 110 (47.6%) results showed some alteration. The most frequent alterations were: Hypozoospermia: 27 patients (24.6%), Teratozoospermia: 21 patients (19.1%), Asthenozoospermia: 18 patients (16.4%). In conclusion, within the physical characteristics, increased sperm viscosity was found in 27.8% of asthenozoospermia cases, and 24.6% had alterations in volume (hypozoospermia). In terms of chemical characteristics, a pH greater than 8 was found in hypozoospermia cases. Regarding microscopic characteristics, altered progressive motility was found in patients with asthenozoospermia, who had shorter abstinence days (3.9+0.8 days) compared to those with a normal seminal diagnosis (4.2+1 day).Ítem Acceso abierto Variations of three seminal parameters according to the clinical analysis time in a private clinical laboratory of metropolitan Lima, 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-03-05) Mavila De la Cruz, Katherine Eliana; Acosta Ferrer, Liliana Antonia; Baltodano Honores, Carlos AlbertoThe aim of this study was to determine variations in three seminal parameters based on the timing of clinical analysis, following WHO criteria (2010).
