Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of the enzymatic detergent versus non-enzymatic detergent in the elimination of biofilm in cannulated instrumental(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-11-04) Hilario Povis, Rossana Inés; Ospino Dávila, Esther Carmen; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of enzymatic detergent versus non-enzymatic detergent in biofilm removal from cannulated instruments. Materials and Methods: This study was quantitative, and the design was a systematic review, which is an observational and retrospective study that synthesizes the results of multiple primary studies. The population consisted of a total of 35 articles, and the sample included 08 articles. Data collection included full-text articles from the last ten years related to the issue, all of which were critically reviewed using the GRADE system to assign the quality of evidence and strength of recommendation. Results: The final selection consisted of 08 articles, of which (02) corresponded to China, (04) to Canada, (01) to Australia, and (01) to Switzerland, respectively. All are experimental studies. Conclusions: Out of the 08 reviewed articles, 75% (n=06/08) indicate that neither enzymatic detergent nor non-enzymatic detergent is effective in biofilm removal from cannulated instruments, compared to 25% (n=02/08) that show the effectiveness of non-enzymatic detergent in biofilm removal from cannulated instruments.
