Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the kangaroo mother method compared to the conventional method for the prevention of heat loss in preterm infants under 2000 grams(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-01) Chávarry Mendoza, Deisi Fabiola; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethThrough the Kangaroo Mother Method, care and attention are provided to low birth weight babies. It consists of two fundamental pillars: breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact. It is an effective, easy-to-implement, cost-effective technique that meets the newborn's needs and serves as an optimal alternative to incubator care. OBJECTIVE: To systematize the evidence found on the effectiveness of the Kangaroo Mother Method compared to the conventional method for preventing heat loss in neonates weighing less than 2000 grams. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Observational and retrospective systematic review. The search was limited to articles that include studies on the benefits of the Kangaroo Mother Method to ensure neonatal survival. Selected studies underwent critical analysis. The quality of the evidence and strength of the recommendations were assessed using the GRADE system. RESULTS: 100% of the reviewed articles are conclusive, supported by 3 systematic reviews, 3 randomized clinical trials, 1 quasi-experimental study, and 3 cohort studies; all suggest the use of the Kangaroo Mother Method to prevent heat loss in neonates weighing less than 2000 grams. Los datos a obtener se ordenarán en una base de datos para ser trasladado al SPSS 25.0 y analizar de acuerdo a los objetivos previstoÍtem Acceso abierto Relationship between knowledge and nursing care on thermoregulation in the premature neonate in the ICU of a hospital in the department of Junín 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-26) Rojas Cipriano, Jovana Sofía; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GisellePrematurity is one of the current problems within public healthcare in Peru. This issue increases morbidity and mortality in children. Thermoregulation is one of the critical physiological functions of newborns, related to their survival, well-being, and associated morbidity. Through thermoregulation, a balance is maintained between heat loss and production, ensuring that the body temperature remains within the normal range. The objective is to identify the relationship between the level of knowledge and care practices of nursing staff regarding the basic nursing care of thermoregulation in premature neonatal patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in the Junín region, 2021. The methodology will follow a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied type, and non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The study population will consist of 30 nurses from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Neonatology Service. The instrument to assess knowledge will be a validated questionnaire, while the instrument for evaluating nursing care will be an observation guide, with descriptive statistical and correlation analysis.
