Ítem Acceso abierto Quality of information in YouTube videos about COVID - 19 and dental practice(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-21) Tovar Huaynate, Angie Felicita; Arauzo Sinchez, Carlos JavierThe objective was to evaluate the quality of information in YouTube videos about “COVID-19” and dental practice. This study was descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional, where a search was conducted on YouTube using relevant keywords, resulting in a total of 1,010 videos. These videos underwent an initial filter where those with the following characteristics were excluded: English language (n=17), duplicates (n=15), irrelevant content (n=31), and videos exceeding 20 minutes or conference videos (n=4). In the second filter, the modified DISCERN instrument was used to assess the information quality of the videos. The videos were classified as containing quality information according to the global scale, then scored to determine whether quality information existed, using the Likert-type Global Quality Scale. Of the 36 videos analyzed, 33 had incomplete information, with 5 (13.8%) being of poor quality, 28 (77.7%) being of very poor quality, and only 3 (8.3%) having complete information that met all 5 criteria of the global scale, representing videos with good quality information.
