Ítem Acceso abierto Self-perception of the quality of oral health in patients with a vegan diet who are treated at Consultorio Moldent – Bellavista, Peru 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-10) Medina Pinto, Lourdes Sofia; Sotomayor Woolcott, Peggi MargretThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between oral health quality in vegan patients attending the Moldent clinic in 2022. The methodology applied was analytical with a quantitative approach, using data collection and analysis to answer the research questions and test the hypotheses established previously. The sample consisted of 78 patients attending the Moldent clinic who met the following inclusion criteria: vegan diet, adult age, and patients who agreed to participate in the study. Results: It was found that the correlation between vegan diet and self-perception of oral health was -0.815, with a significance of 0.00 < 0.05, rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the alternative. Furthermore, to assess the reliability of the instrument, Cronbach’s Alpha was calculated, yielding a value of 0.931, which is considered high, indicating that the instrument used is appropriate. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the vegan diet and self-perception of oral health, with a high negative correlation of -0.815, meaning that the vegan diet variable is associated with lower self-perception of oral health.
