El cannabis es una sustancia psicoactiva de uso común con un estimado de 192 millones de usuarios en todo el mundo. Los derivados de la planta Cannabis sativa, que se usa ampliamente con fines recreativos y medicinales y su consumo recreativo se ha convertido en un tema ampliamente debatido en todo el mundo debido a su creciente aceptación social y su potencial impacto en la salud pública.

Determinación cualitativa de cannabinoides (cannabidiol) en veinte aceites medicinales comerciales obtenidos de pacientes durante consulta médica en Lima, Perú, 2021

The objective of this research project was to qualitatively determine the presence of cannabinoids (cannabidiol) in 20 commercial medicinal oils obtained from patients during medical consultations in Lima, Peru, 2021. Materials and Methods: An observational study with a qualitative approach and non-probabilistic sampling was designed at the Specialized Medical Center for Medicinal Cannabis (CANNAVITAL) in Lima, Peru. The inclusion criteria were cannabis oils provided by patients, with various oil matrices, prices, bottles, and with/without a health registration. Fast Blue B and the colorimetric reagent Reaja were used to determine cannabinoids and cannabidiol (CBD), respectively. Results: Of the total oils, 14 (70%) contained cannabinoids, and 4 (20%) showed weak concentrations of cannabinoids. Oils in 15 to 20 ml bottles showed the highest frequency of cannabinoids (n=5, 25%). Additionally, 9 (45%) oils contained CBD, and 1 (5%) had weak concentrations. Oils in 5 to 10 ml bottles showed the highest concentrations of CBD (n=9, 45%). All oils with an olive oil matrix contained cannabinoids. Conclusions: The qualitative determination of cannabinoids in 20 commercial medicinal oils obtained from patients during medical consultations in Lima, Peru, in 2021 demonstrated that 7 out of 10 oils contained cannabinoids in their various commercial presentations.

Determinación del consumo de marihuana y cocaína en alumnos del quinto año de secundaria del colegio José María Arguedas, Santa Anita, julio–diciembre, 2019

This research on the consumption of marijuana and cocaine was conducted in the Santa Anita District during the school period from July to October 2019. Its objective was to determine the consumption of cocaine and marijuana among fifth-year high school students at the José María Arguedas school. Regarding materials and methods, the research approach was qualitative-quantitative, as it involved laboratory analysis of urine samples and the use of academic grades for correlation. The methodologies used in this study were the Ontrak TesTstik Rapid Test for detecting cocaine and marijuana in urine samples and the Accu-Tell 2-drug Rapid Test (COC-THC). The population consisted of 59 students from Sections A and B of the fifth year of secondary education at the school. A sample of 38 students was obtained, as they had parental consent for urine sample collection. The results showed 5 users in Section A and 6 users in Section B. In Section A, 3 were male and 2 were female, while in Section B, 4 were male and 2 were female. It is concluded that there are students who consume marijuana and cocaine, and these students have grades below the average of 13.5. This consumption has a simple relationship with academic performance.

Efectividad de la administración del aceite de cannabis en pacientes pediátricos con epilepsia refractaria

Objetivo: Sistematizar las evidencias sobre la efectividad de la administración de derivados de cannabis en la disminución de convulsiones en el tratamiento de pacientes con epilepsia refractaria. Material y Métodos: Revisión sistemática metanálisis, empleando el sistema de evaluación GRADE para el reconocimiento del nivel de evidencia, encontrados en las siguientes bases de datos: Pubmed, Pediatrics Official Journal of the AAPS, Scielo, Wiley Online Library. Con un total de 25 artículos encontrados, solo 10 artículos fueron seleccionados y revisados sistemáticamente. El 80% (n = 08/10) de ellos son revisiones sistemáticas y el 20% (n =02/10) son ensayos comunitarios controlados. De acuerdo a los resultados alcanzados de la revisión sistemática desarrollada en el presente estudio, proceden de los países de Argentina (10%) (n = 01/10), seguida de Australia (10%) (n = 1/10), Brasil (10%) (n = 01/10), Canadá (20%) (n = 02/10), E.E.U.U. (30%) (n = 03/10) e Italia (20%) (n = 02/10). Resultados: De toda la población de artículos hallados de la revisión sistemática indica que la utilización de cannabinoides evidenció una efectividad considerable en el tratamiento de pacientes con epilepsia refractaria, reduciendo la cantidad de convulsiones y mejorando la calidad de vida de los mismos cuando se utiliza como tratamiento adyuvante. Conclusión: En el 100% de los artículos utilizados se evidencia la efectividad, en distintas magnitudes, de la utilización de cannabinoides para el tratamiento de epilepsia fármaco resistente. Sin embargo, muchas de estas indican que es necesario un mayor conocimiento para asumir estos resultados y convertirlos en un tratamiento aprobado por las entidades de salud en el mundo.

Eficacia y seguridad del aceite medicinal de cannabis en pacientes epilépticos refractarios: revisión sistemática y metaanálisis

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of medicinal cannabis oil in refractory epileptic patients using a systematic review technique complemented with meta-analysis. Randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials were identified. The primary outcomes for efficacy were the mean percentage reductions in seizure frequency of ≥50%, and for safety, the adverse events presented. Risk ratios with 95% confidence intervals were estimated using the CASPe method. A total of two clinical trials with 291 participants were included in the meta-analysis. In the cannabidiol group, 64 patients (43.5%) out of 147 (100%) achieved efficacy, compared to 36 patients (25%) out of 144 (100%) in the placebo group [risk ratio 1.74, 95% CI: 1.24-2.44; p=0.001]. For safety, 130 patients (88.4%) in the cannabidiol group experienced at least one adverse event, compared to 104 patients (72.2%) in the placebo group [risk ratio 1.22, 95% CI: 1.09-1.38; p=0.00068]. Adverse events significantly associated with cannabidiol included drowsiness (23.1%), diarrhea (20.4%), decreased appetite (17%), vomiting (10.2%), and pyrexia (6.8%). Adjunctive cannabidiol significantly reduced the mean percentage frequency of seizures and showed a higher rate of adverse events compared to placebo in refractory epileptic patients.

Nivel de conocimiento del uso terapeútico del Cannabis y acceso a la información científica en químicos farmaceúticos de Lima – 2021

The objective was to determine the knowledge and access to scientific information on the therapeutic use of Cannabis among Pharmaceutical Chemists from CQFDL-2021. Methods: The study design was non-experimental, descriptive, and correlational, surveying 371 Pharmaceutical Chemists with 19 closed questions. Results: 65% of respondents are between 25 and 44 years old. Regarding the legal disposition of Law No. 31312 on the medicinal use of Cannabis, 90.8% indicated they agree or strongly agree. In terms of knowledge level, 50.1% scored well; upon reviewing the dimensions, it was observed that the chemical composition dimension had the highest percentage for the high level, at 52%. In the pharmacological use dimension, the medium level was the highest at 45%, and in the toxicology dimension, the medium level had the highest percentage at 46.1%. Concerning access to information sources, it was determined that they have limited access to scientific articles at 47.2%, limited access to conferences at 39.9%, and no access to workshops at 47.7%. In conclusion, there is a relationship between access to scientific information and the level of knowledge regarding the therapeutic use of cannabis in CQFDL-2021."

Patrones de uso y costes de recursos en pacientes usuarios del aceite de Cannabis spp. que demandan atención por trastornos neurológicos en la asociación de pacientes MACU – Perú 2020

This study, titled "Usage Patterns and Resource Costs in Patients Using Cannabis spp. Oil Who Seek Care for Neurological Disorders at the MACU – Peru Patient Association 2020," had the general objective of determining the usage patterns and resource costs in patients using Cannabis spp. oil who seek care for neurological disorders. To achieve this objective, two questionnaires were applied to 112 patients in a quantitative, retrospective cohort, and longitudinal study. The main results were: The average annual cost of treating neurological disorders with Cannabis sativa oil was S/ 59,331.80 lower than with traditional drugs. The difference between the annual number of episodes before and after using the Cannabis spp. oil was 3,102. The main conclusions were: 40.0% of patients with neurological disorders used 1,860 drops of Cannabis spp. oil per year. The average annual cost per patient for treatment with traditional drugs was statistically higher than with Cannabis sativa oil. The annual number of disease episodes before consuming Cannabis sativa oil was significantly higher than the number of episodes after its consumption.
