Knowledge about cardiac catheterization and patient anxiety in the hemodynamics room of a hospital in Lima-2023

The patient's lack of knowledge about cardiac catheterization triggers anxiety in them, and this affects the preparation, intervention and post operative period of cardiac surgery. OBJECTIVE: To determine how knowledge about cardiac catheterization is related to patient anxiety in the catheterization room of a Hospital in Lima-2023. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An observational, correlational, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach is carried out in a sample of voluntary patients scheduled for cardiac catheterization in a catheterization room of a Hospital in Lima, the data collection technique will be the survey, the instrument of level of knowledge about self-care in patients who will undergo cardiac catheterization performed by Mendoza and the state/trait anxiety questionnaire (STAI) the data will be processed in the statistical program SPSS version 26, contingency tables will be built to apply descriptive statistics, and for the correlation, the chi-square or Student's t test will be applied, depending on the nature of the variable.

Cardiac catheterization helps in the diagnosis of vascular diseases and acts in their treatment. It also shows the condition of the coronary arteries, diagnoses and treats heart valves, as well as various malformations. It is used as part of the diagnosis considered the "Gold Standard" in interventional cardiology. It is important to highlight that for patients who, due to their condition and diagnosis, will undergo catheterization, the education provided about self-care is crucial for successful recovery. This is because they may experience subsequent events months or years after the procedure. It is very important for patients to understand that the procedure alone will not guarantee success in returning to their Normal" life. Significant changes in lifestyle are necessary, including diet, stopping harmful habits that affect their health, incorporating exercise routines, receiving psychological support, involving the family in the recovery process, following medication instructions, and complying with treatment before and after the procedure. All this work is carried out in an integrated manner by a trained healthcare team, led by the nurse who ensures that the entire process is completed day by day. Therefore, improving self-care for a person after catheterization leads to better outcomes, as self-care is an active phenomenon, an intentional and deliberate action determined by the individual's knowledge and skill set. The ability for self-care is not innate; on the contrary, it develops throughout life and is influenced by the beliefs, habits, and practices maintained by the individual's social group.

Nivel de conocimiento y grado de ansiedad en el paciente sometido a cateterismo cardiaco, en la unidad de hemodinamia de una clínica de Lima, 2024

OBJETIVO es Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y grado de ansiedad en el paciente sometido a cateterismo cardiaco en la unidad de hemodinamia de una Clínica de Lima, la METODOLOGÍA que se utilizará fue de método; hipotético deductivo, de enfoque cuantitativa, de tipo básica, observacional, con diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y correlacional, con una población de 80 pacientes, se utilizará como instrumento un cuestionario para la primera variable: Nivel de conocimiento del paciente sometidos a cateterismo cardiaco, el cuestionario compuesto de 22 preguntas, cada pregunta tiene el valor de 1 punto, donde se podrá evaluar el nivel de conocimiento del paciente sometido a cateterismo cardiaco como; bueno de 16 a 22 puntos, regular de 8 a 15 puntos y malo de 1 a 7 puntos. Para la segunda variable se utilizara el cuestionario de Instrumento de la prueba de ansiedad: estado – rasgo (STAI), el cuestionario está compuesto de 40 frases, dividido en 2 partes de 20 preguntas para ansiedad estado y 20 preguntas para ansiedad rasgos, donde se podrá evaluar según escala de Likert como nada= 0, algo= 1, bastante= 2 y mucho= 3, para cada frase, el puntaje total se dará según escala de medición como leve con menos de 30m puntos, moderada entre 3o y 44 puntos y severa mas de 44 puntos. Para el procesamiento de datos se utilizara el programa estadístico SPSS 26 y para determinar la correlación de las variables se utilizará el test de Chi cuadrado.

Nursing care in patients with radial compression bracelet after cardiac catheterization in a private clinic, 2020.

Hemodynamics has evolved, particularly in cardiac catheterization, which is used to study the anatomy and function of the heart, coronary arteries, and large vessels. The radial approach using a compression wristband has been yielding good results in post-procedure nursing care, reducing risks and avoiding complications. The aim of this study is to determine the nursing care for patients with a radial compression wristband post-cardiac catheterization. The study will adopt a quantitative approach with a descriptive methodological design. The sample will consist of 60 nurses from the Recovery Area, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Hospitalization of a private clinic, who meet the inclusion criteria. Data will be collected using a questionnaire consisting of 8 questions, and the obtained data will be entered into an Excel matrix for interpretation.
