Ítem Acceso abierto Risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in individuals visiting the triage area of Breña Health Center, Lima — 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-07-18) Palomino Calle, Teófila; Matta Solis, Hernán HugoObjective: Determine the relationship between the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular in people who attend the triage area of the Breña Health Center, Lima - 2019. Materials and methods: It was a study with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, descriptive in nature. cross. We worked with a sample of 150 patients aged 40 to 78 years who were overweight and/or reported total blood cholesterol levels above normal values who attended the triage area of the Breña Health Center. The data collection technique was the survey and the instruments used were the FINDRISC questionnaire and the CVR calculator. Results: There is a significant relationship between the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk in people who attend the triage area of the Breña Health Center (p < 0.05). Regarding the risk of type 2 diabetes, the slightly elevated level predominated (40.7%); followed by the moderate level (30.7%); high level (20%); and low level (8.7%). Regarding cardiovascular risk, low risk predominated (79.3%); followed by moderate risk (16%); very high risk (2.7%); and high risk (2%). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
