    Effectiveness of the central venous catheter care protocol in reducing complications in intensive care patients

    Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the application of the Central Venous Catheter care protocol to reduce complications in Intensive Care patients. Material and Method: A systematic review of 10 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of the application of the Central Venous Catheter care protocol to reduce complications in Intensive Care patients was used, found in the following databases Lilacs, Scielo, Pubmed, Medline, Cochrane Plus, Google Scholar, Elsevier, all of these have been analyzed according to the Grade scale in order to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 40% (4/10) correspond to the methodological design of systematic reviews and meta-analysis; 40% (4/10) literature review, controlled trial, cohort study and experimental trial; 20% (2/10) are descriptive studies. 100% of the articles show the effectiveness of the application of the Central Venous Catheter care protocol to reduce complications in Intensive Care patients. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 10 out of 10 show that there is effectiveness in the application of the Central Venous Catheter care protocol to reduce complications in Intensive Care patients.
