Ítem Acceso abierto Effective interventions in the prevention of infestation in patients with urinary cateterism(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-04) Ruelas Elias, Anny Yadira; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To analyze the evidence on effective interventions in the prevention of infection in patients with urinary catheterization Materials and methods: the type of study was quantitative and the study design was a systematic review, the population consisted of 30 studies and the sample was 10 articles, this review was found in the following databases Medline, PubMed, Elsevier, Scielo. and BVS. where the GRADE system was used, which identifies the quality of the evidence and the recommended strength. Results: it was obtained that: the use of reminders is effective, as are standardized protocols, the bundles that are nursing interventions already established, supervision by the nurse, hand washing to reduce bacteria and the use of the antimicrobial catheter. On the other hand, the quality gaps in the documentation of the use of different urinary catheters with the results of the urine are not effective. Conclusions: 90% (n = 9/10) of the 10 articles reviewed showed that the effective interventions for the prevention of infection in patients with urinary catheterization were: the use of reminders, standardized protocols, the bundles, continuous nursing supervision, hand washing and also the use of antimicrobial catheters with silver alloy. However, 10% (n=1/10) of the reviewed articles also showed that the quality gaps in the documentation of the use of different urinary catheters are not effective with the results of the urine, since there is no concordance in both.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nursing care in patients with urinary catheter for the decrease of complications in the emergency service(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-06-30) Rivas Giles, Ita; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, OrianaObjective: To systematize evidence on the effectiveness of nursing care in patients with urinary catheters to reduce complications in the emergency department. Materials and Methods: Based on the results obtained from the systematic review conducted in this study, among the 10 systematically reviewed articles, 60% (n=6/10) are systematic reviews, 10% (n=1/10) are pre-experimental trials, 10% (n=1/10) are case-control studies, 10% (n=1/10) are cross-sectional/analytical studies, and 10% (n=1/10) are cohort studies. The studies reviewed are from the following countries: USA (30%), Spain (30%), Brazil (10%), Portugal (10%), Mexico (10%), and Cuba (10%). Results: The evidence found demonstrates that 100% (n=10/10) show that proper hygiene techniques during urinary catheter placement reduce the rate of urinary tract infections and complications. Conclusion: This systematic review highlights that nursing care is highly effective in reducing complication rates in patients with urinary catheters. This work should be accompanied by a protocol implemented by nursing staff, based on their specific work needs and focused on reducing complication rates for patients with urinary catheters. Continuous updates should be adopted by healthcare personnel to consistently improve their knowledge.Ítem Acceso abierto Nursing care in bladder catheterization and urinary tract infections in prostate cancer patients Clínica Detecta, Lima, Lima, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-20) Tapia Hurtado, Sorayda; Molina Torres, Jose GregorioThe purpose of this research work is to relate nursing care with the prevention of urinary tract infections in patients with prostate cancer, which will be carried out at the Detecta Clinic, Lima, 2022. It is an applied type of research, design non-experimental, correlational and transversal, for which 2 instruments were applied, a questionnaire on nursing care Caring Assessment Instrument (Care-Q) in Spanish version and the second on the prevention of urinary tract infections in patients with a catheter bladder, in a sample of 50 patients with prostate cancer from the Detecta Clinic, taking into account that the support provided by nursing staff in caring for an oncological patient is very important to provide security to the patient before and after treatment. As a result, it was observed that nursing professional patients must show accessibility to patients, explain their situation and provide them with clear answers, ensure that the patient is comfortable, anticipate events, give them confidence at all times and develop actions of monitors and follow up to be warned, in the face of painful circumstances. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between the nursing care variable and the prevention of infections in the urinary tract of patients with prostate cancer, since providing good care provides security to the cancer patient.
