First, the Green and Vermillon oral hygiene indices were performed on both groups, and the sample was taken immediately. The modified Bass brushing technique was taught to one group and the Stillman technique to the other group. A toothbrush and toothpaste were assigned to each child to practice the learned technique, and the oral hygiene index was reassessed after five days. Upon analyzing the results obtained, there was no significant difference in hygiene before applying the modified Bass and Stillman techniques (p = 0.805). In reference to the comparison between modified Bass and Stillman immediately after applying the technique (0 days), no significant difference in hygiene was found (p = 0.483). Furthermore, in the comparison between modified Bass and Stillman five days after applying the techniques, no significant difference in hygiene was found (p = 1).Ítem Acceso abierto Resistance to abrasion by dental brushing of Bulk-Fill resins of high and low viscosity In Vitro Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-08) Martel Condezo, Miqueas; Huamani Caquiamarca, Yuliana EstherObjective: The aim of this research was to determine the abrasion resistance due to tooth brushing of high and low viscosity Bulk-Fill resins. Methodology: An in vitro experimental study was conducted, with 45 resin samples distributed into three study groups. Group 1: High-viscosity bulk-fill resin (Filtek™ One Bulk Fill 3M-Espe), Group 2: Low-viscosity bulk-fill resin (Filtek™ Bulk Fill Flowable Restorative 3M-Espe), and Group 3: Conventional composite resin (Filtek™ Z250 XT 3M-Espe). The specimens were weighed before and after tooth brushing to determine mass loss. The brushing process was performed in a machine designed for this purpose, with 91,800 brushing cycles programmed, using medium bristle brushes and toothpaste. Results: Descriptive statistics were analyzed, and the Student's t-test for related data showed significant differences in weight before and after brushing in all resin groups. The Kruskal-Wallis test with Games-Howell post hoc analysis revealed significant differences in weight variation between the high-viscosity Bulk Fill resin and the conventional composite resin. Conclusion: Statistically significant weight loss occurred in all resins evaluated, and the abrasion resistance of the conventional resin was statistically significantly greater than that of the high-viscosity Bulk Fill resin.
