    Effectiveness of steri strip versus other sutures in the improvement of cicatrization in surgical incisions

    Objective: To analyze and systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of steri strips versus other sutures in improving healing in surgical incisions. Materials and methods: The type of research was quantitative, its study design is a systematic review, with a population of 30 articles, 10 articles were taken as a sample published and indicated in the scientific databases, the instrument was a search in databases: Cochrane Library, Scielo British Medical Journal, PubMed, Lancet, Wiley Online Library, Epistemonikos, for the evaluation of the articles the GRADE system was used which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: The study analyzed ten scientific articles, of which one research found that the Steri Strip is effective in a healing process in 9.1% compared to Dermaond, affirming the effectiveness with the following study where the Steri strip is effective since it favored the recovery process, improved self-care in 7.3% compared to staples in 4%. Conclusions: It was concluded that 100% of the studies show the effectiveness of steri strips versus other sutures in improving healing in surgical incisions, improving the healing process, improved recovery in post-operative patients, reduced the risk of infection, patients presented fewer adverse effects and due to its low cost.
