The research problem is: What is the level of occupational stress in dentists from the Almenara Health Network - EsSalud, using the Maslach Burnout Inventory Questionnaire Lima-2016? Stress is a dangerous disease for both industrialized and developing economies, as it negatively affects production by harming the physical and mental health of workers. The objective was to determine the level of occupational stress in dentists from the Almenara Health Network - EsSalud, using the Maslach Burnout Inventory Questionnaire Lima-2016. The study was descriptive and cross-sectional, conducted at the Almenara Health Network. The sample consisted of 50 healthcare dentists working in outpatient consultations and rotating shifts. A non-probabilistic sample was used. Data collection techniques included the Maslach Burnout Inventory Questionnaire, which is the most appropriate tool for assessing occupational stress, and the Chi-square test was applied. The results showed that 36% of the dentists experienced moderate stress, with depersonalization being the most prominent dimension, affecting 20% of the total dentists with medium to high levels of stress. It was concluded that 56% of the dentists had low stress in the emotional exhaustion dimension.Ítem Acceso abierto Compliance with biosafety regulations associated with COVID -19 in dental surgeons in dental offices in Lima - 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-07-06) Moreno Escudero, Kelly Yenyfer; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryThe objective of this research was to determine the level of compliance with COVID-19 biosecurity regulations among dentists in dental clinics in Lima in 2020. This study was observational, cross-sectional, prospective, and descriptive. An instrument issued by the Peruvian Dental Association, which was modified and validated, was used, achieving a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.744, indicating high reliability. The sample consisted of 378 dentists who answered 26 online questions. The results by dimensions were as follows: telephone triage (85.94%), pre-appointment instructions (92.31%), pre-entry measures (73.21%), dentist protection (93.9%), and patient protection (82.23%). In the clinical area and solid waste management, the compliance levels were regular, with 78.78% and 57.03%, respectively. Overall, dentists had a compliance level of over 75% with COVID-19 biosecurity regulations. The hypothesis test conducted showed an approximate significance of 0%, rejecting the null hypothesis and concluding that more than 75% of dentists comply with COVID-19 biosecurity regulations.Ítem Acceso abierto Evaluación de conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas en control de infecciones de cirujanos dentistas en su práctica clínica privada durante tiempos de Covid 19. The sample consisted of 208 licensed, registered, and authorized dentists from the Lima Region Dental Association. Each professional filled out a virtual survey, previously validated, to assess the level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding infection control. Results: Upon evaluating the level of knowledge, it was found that 58.2% had medium knowledge, followed by 35.6% with low knowledge. Regarding attitudes toward infection control, 100% of the respondents reported having a high attitude level. In terms of infection control practices, 76% had a medium practice level, followed by 21.6% with a high practice level. No statistically significant association was found between the level of knowledge and practices (Pearson's Chi-square test; p>0.05), nor between the level of knowledge and attitudes, as the latter remained constant. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the level of knowledge and practices regarding infection control among dentists in their private clinical practice during the COVID-19 pandemic.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and attitudes towards the new coronavirus covid-19 in dental surgeons of Lima 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-27) Espinoza Ferro, Freddy Peter; Gómez Carrión, Christian EstebanThe first reports of patients with the SARS-CoV-2 virus were detected in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and it quickly spread to all continents. The objective of this study was to determine the knowledge and attitudes towards the new COVID-19 coronavirus among Dentists in Lima. This research was descriptive and cross-sectional, and a survey was conducted through a Google Form. The instrument, previously validated through expert judgment, consisted of 20 questions with various alternatives, focusing on COVID-19. The sample consisted of 236 dentists. Statistical analysis was carried out using the ANOVA, Chi-square, and Student's T tests. Results: 79 subjects (33.5%) had low knowledge, 148 subjects (62.7%) had medium knowledge, and 9 subjects (3.8%) had high knowledge. Regarding attitudes, 12 (5.1%) had negative attitudes, 2 (0.8%) had indifferent attitudes, and 222 (94.1%) had positive attitudes. 117 (49.6%) were female dentists and 119 (50.4%) were male dentists. Regarding age, 23 (9.7%) were in the 21-35 years range, 210 (89%) were in the 36-59 years range, and 3 (1.3%) were 60 years or older. Regarding years of work experience, 16 (6.8%) had 1-5 years, 27 (11.4%) had 6-10 years, and 193 (81.8%) had 11 or more years. Conclusion: 62.7% of the dentists in Lima had a medium level of knowledge, and only 3.8% reached a high level.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of empathy in dental surgeons of the private practice, Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-21) Santisteban Manrique, Ana María; Iturria Reátegui, Ingrid Rosa IsabelThe objective of this research was to determine the level of empathy in dental surgeons working in private practice in Lima, 2021. The study was observational with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 120 dental surgeons from the district of Los Olivos and 84 dental surgeons from the district of Miraflores, totaling 204 participants. The results showed that "The level of empathy is outstanding among dental surgeons in private practice in Lima, 2021." Among the participants, 81.86% of the dental surgeons exhibited an intermediate level of empathy, while 15.69% exhibited an outstanding level. Regarding the districts, dental surgeons in the Los Olivos district showed higher empathy, with 42% at the intermediate level and 16% at the outstanding level, compared to the Miraflores district, which had 40% at the intermediate level. According to the chi-square statistical test, "The level of empathy is outstanding in dental surgeons in private practice in Lima, 2021," with an asymptotic significance level (P = 0.007), a 95% confidence level, and a 5% margin of error.Ítem Acceso abierto Manual for the care of work posture and its influence on musculoskeletal pain in dental surgeons, Huaraz 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-05) Meza Manrique, Miguel Angel; Maldonado Perez, Jessica YvonneThe aim of this research was to determine the variation in work posture and its influence on osteomuscular pain after applying a manual of postural care in dental surgeons, Huaraz 2022. The hypothetical-deductive method was used as the study relied on observation and surveys. Observation was employed to recognize "work posture," and the survey was used to identify "osteomuscular pain" in a sample of 129 dental surgeons. The study had a quantitative approach, applied type, with a quasi-experimental design, educational intervention, observational, and longitudinal. The statistical test used was mean difference to analyze the variation between pre-test and post-test using the SPSS version 26.0 software. The results showed the variation in work posture after applying the manual, with a positive change in relation to inadequate postures. Among the causes of osteomuscular discomfort identified by the dental surgeons, work posture (40%) and work hours (39%) were the most significant. The osteomuscular areas with the greatest variation in discomfort were the neck and wrist. It was concluded that work posture and its influence on osteomuscular pain were improved in dental surgeons through the application of the manual.
