Effectiveness of therapeutic cooling in the decrease of complications in the neonate with ischemical hypxical- encephalopathy

Objective: To systematize the effectiveness of therapeutic cooling in reducing complications in hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Material and Methods: A quantitative observational and retrospective systematic review, carried out with an elective evaluation using the Grade method to identify the level of evidence, located in the various data sources: PubMed, Scielo, Cochrane Library and Elsevier. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 40% (n = 4/10) are systematic reviews, 10% (n = 1/10) are retrospective studies and 10% (n = 1/10) are randomized trials, 10% (n = 1/10) case-control studies, 10% (n = 1/10) prospective multicenter cohort trial, 10% (n = 1/10) longitudinal non-experimental study, 20% (n = 2/10) are observational cohort studies. According to the effects obtained in the systematic review carried out in the current study, they derive from the countries of Spain (20%), followed by the United States (20%), Australia (10%), France (10%), London (10%), Uruguay (10%), Colombia (10%), Canada (10%) Results: Consequently, of the findings found, 100% (n = 10/10) indicate that therapeutic cooling is effective as a treatment to reduce complications in newborns with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Conclusion: Therapeutic cooling is effective as a treatment to reduce complications in newborns with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.

Efficacy of cryotherapy in pain control in post-knee arthroscopy patients

Objective: To evaluate the evidence on the effectiveness of cryotherapy in pain control in post-knee arthroscopy patients. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 80% (n=08/10) show that cryotherapy is effective in pain control in post-operative patients. 80% of the articles, because they showed a significant benefit in the improvement of range of motion and function in the treatment. 100% of the articles have shown that cryotherapy is a simple, easily accessible and cost-effective technique to relieve post-arthroscopic pain since it is a Superficial Thermotherapy modality that is based on the application of cold as a therapeutic agent. Also, 80% of articles reveal that it reduces patients' time to return to daily activity and that the application is with the use of ice in a thick bag at a temperature below zero, covered with a cloth, placed directly on the operated area every 20min on the postoperative day. Conclusions: The 10 articles reviewed have shown that cryotherapy is effective in controlling pain in patients after knee arthroscopy surgery.

Efficacy of prehospital therapeutic hypothermia in improving survival and neurological outcomes in patients with cardiac arrest

Objective: To systematically analyze the evidence regarding the effectiveness of pre-hospital therapeutic hypothermia to improve survival and neurological outcomes in patients with cardiac arrest. Material and methods: The present study is qualitative with a study design of a systematic review of 10 scientific articles on the effectiveness of prehospital therapeutic hypothermia to improve survival and neurological outcomes in patients with cardiac arrest. These articles were analyzed according to the Grade system. to determine their strength and quality of evidence and were found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Epistemonikos. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, it was concluded that only 20% point out the effectiveness of pre-hospital therapeutic hypothermia in post-cardiac arrest patients, which shows an improvement in survival with good neurological results of patients upon hospital discharge. On the other hand, 80% of the articles reviewed indicate a series of limitations. Conclusion: The articles reviewed point out that the evidence does not support the administration of pre-hospital therapeutic hypothermia to patients with cardiac arrest where optimal temperature was not achieved by pre-hospital hypothermia due to short transport time. and limited cold liquid.

Las enfermedades respiratorias según la Economía Global, industria agrícola en el año 2019 fue del 23.4%, en Perú para el mismo año el porcentaje fue un poco mayor 27.3%. Las enfermedades respiratorias crónicas pueden impactar profundamente sobre la calidad de vida entre aquellas personas que las padecen. Según reportes OMS (2021) las principales causas de discapacidad y muerte, están conformadas por las enfermedades respiratorias, 65 millones de personas han sido diagnosticadas con “EPOC” y alrededor de 334 millones de pacientes padecen asma, 19,000 estadounidenses han muerto por causas relacionadas con el resfriado desde 1979 según los certificados de defunción.
