Ítem Acceso abierto Color variation of 3m and TOCUYAMA resins compared to the use of mouthwashes: PERIO AID CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE 0.05%, CPC CETYLPYRIDINO chloride 0.07% and PERIO AID CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE 0.12%(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-28) Daza Robles, Patricia Jessica; Rojas Ortega, Raúl AntonioThe objective of this study was to compare the color variation of 3M and Tokuyama resins in response to the use of mouthwashes Perio Aid Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.05%, CPC Cetylpyridinium Chloride 0.07%, and Perio Aid Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12%. The methodology involved an experimental, longitudinal, prospective study with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 80 resin discs from each brand, subdivided into groups of 20 for each mouthwash, and for distilled water, making a total of 160 resin discs (80 from 3M resin and 80 from Tokuyama resin). A data collection sheet was used as the instrument, employing direct observation as the technique. The disc samples were calibrated using a digital caliper to ensure they met the exact measurements. The samples from the groups were stored in 15 milliliters of distilled water in hermetically sealed containers before being treated with the respective mouthwashes for 12 hours. The Shapiro-Wilk method was used for data processing, with a 95% confidence level. The Mann-Whitney U test was applied. The results indicated that both 3M and Tokuyama resins showed color variation when exposed to Perio Aid Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.05% and CPC Cetylpyridinium Chloride 0.07% mouthwashes, showing statistically significant differences (p<0.05).
