(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Zegarra Cárdenas, Diana; Rivas Altez, Walter
The study was carried out with the purpose of formulating a medicine through a new route of administration of sodium closantel gel for veterinary use against Fasciola hepatica during the months of January to April 2015. An experimental, analytical, cross-sectional research work was conducted to elaborate a gel that meets the optimal conditions for use as an antiparasitic, taking into account the ideal physicochemical processes for the formulation of the gel in question. It should be noted that the physicochemical processes are important in the elaboration of the gel, with the fundamental basis being the interaction of the appropriate excipients, the active ingredient, adequate quantity, etc. Several excipients were considered for the preparation of the gel, finding that the use of Cremophor in different amounts is not suitable for the gel formulation. The use of Tween 80, which is employed for viscosity, is also not suitable for the gel formulation as it presented non-ideal characteristics. Poligel was used for the formulation of the gel, and incompatibilities and inconsistencies were found (Not suitable). Formula 1012 was used, in which it was observed that the use of 80 g is adequate for the gel formulation (Suitable). A formula with codification 1012 was also used, where the ideal temperature for the formulation of the gel is 70°C. The use of Polyethylene glycol in an amount of 200 mL is adequate for the formulation of the gel. In the search for alcohols for the gel formulation it was found that: the use of rectified ethanol alcohol in an amount of 100 mL is suitable, alcohol coded (1013) in an amount of 100 mL is suitable, alcohol coded (1014) in an adequate amount of 200 mL, and formula coded (1015) in an amount of 15 mL is suitable. The use of Monoethanolamine in an amount of 8.5 mL is optimal for the gel formulation. It should also be noted that the active ingredient sodium closantel does not present any inconvenience in the formulation of the gel.

Observational study design, conducted in 2017 in the city of Lima, in which 100 Pharmaceutical Chemists working in authorized Specialized Pharmaceutical Establishments, both public and/or private, were surveyed as the sample. The functions and activities they perform, those in which they could potentially be involved, and the ideal professional profile of the Pharmaceutical Chemist specialized in the preparation of magistral formulas were evaluated. A research instrument was designed with criteria validated by experts in a questionnaire of questions regarding performance, competencies, and skills of the Pharmaceutical Chemist engaged in the preparation of magistral formulas. After the analysis, evaluation, and processing of the sample, the following results were obtained: Of the 100 Pharmaceutical Chemists consulted (100%), it was found that 65% (65) responded that the activity they considered most important is “Interviewing and selecting personnel for hiring in the field of magistral formulas.” Likewise, 58% (58) of all respondents considered very important the “Resolution of questions and concerns raised by medical personnel, nursing staff, and users of magistral formulas.” In third place, with 56% (56), was “Affinity and vocation for the preparation of magistral compounds,” which may be considered highly significant since 99% of respondents indicated that they considered it at least important (resulting from the combination of those who considered it important and very important). Therefore, it is concluded: the functions and activities performed by the Pharmaceutical Chemist specialized in the preparation of magistral formulas are planning, organization, supervision, preparation, and research of magistral formulas; there are deficiencies in the teaching of courses on processes and preparation of magistral formulas.

Trends in magistral compounding at the "Villa Militar de Chorrillos" polyclinic show a 9.4% growth in the number of prescriptions from 2017 to 2018, with 65.4% patient acceptance regarding the success of this therapeutic alternative. Objective: This study aimed to determine the trends in magistral compounding at the "Villa Militar de Chorrillos" polyclinic from July to September 2018. Methodology: The research type was descriptive. The sample was randomly selected and consisted of 136 patients from the dermatology area of the "Villa Militar de Chorrillos" polyclinic who had been prescribed a magistral formula during the specified months. The data collection technique and instruments included the daily prescription records, medication price formats, and patient surveys. Results: A growing trend in the number of prescriptions was observed for the July-September quarters of 2016, 2017, and 2018, with 181, 192, and 210 prescriptions, respectively. 76% of the formula users were female, and 57% were young people between 18 and 25 years old. 55.9% of patients expressed high satisfaction with their treatment, 68.4% showed high treatment adherence, and 72.8% had high knowledge about the formula. Conclusion: A 9.4% growth trend was determined in the number of prescriptions for the July-September 2018 quarter compared to the same quarter in 2017, along with a predominantly female trend (76%) in the use of these formulas compared to men.

Lima 2024
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-12-11) Arieta Nolberto, Marjorie; Molina Huaman, Jhonatan Segundo; Cano Pérez, Carlos Alfredo
