Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of Unna’s Boot versus elastic bandaging in patients with venous ulcers(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-01-06) Orahulio Gonzaga, Karina Silvia; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: Analyze and systematize the evidence of the effectiveness of the Unna Boot bandage versus elastic bandage in patients with venous ulcers. Materials and Methods: The type of research was quantitative, systematic review, the population was 35 articles, the sample of 10 scientific articles published and indexed in the database: Scielo, Medigraphic, Cacvyl, Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Pesquisa and ElSevier , to evaluate the articles, the GRADE Method was used, which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: 100% of the articles, 60% correspond to Brazil, 10% Argentina, 10% Mexico, 10% Italy and 10% USA. In relation to the designs and types of studies, 40% to clinical trials, 40 % control cases and 20% systematic review. Conclusions: After the systematic review, it is concluded that 90% of the studies show that the Unna Boot proved to be more effective than the elastic bandage due to its significant reduction in exudate, high healing rate and greater number of closed ulcers in 3 months; It is considered the reference compression device; their dressing changes were less frequent and at lower costs; reduced edema, venous flow and wound size.
