Ítem Acceso abierto Frequency of the Second Mesiovestibular Duct of the First Upper Molar by Using Conical Beam Computed Tomography in Patients Attended at the Center of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Stomatological Images E.I.R.L., Lima 2019-2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-11) Vilca Pinares, Roxana; Girano Castaños, Jorge AlbertoThe frequency of the MB2 canal is high worldwide. In light of this, the objective of this study was to determine the frequency of the canal in the upper first molars using computed tomography. This research was deductive, quantitative, basic type with an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional design. A data collection form was used, and the sample consisted of 144 tomographies, analyzing 254 upper first molars, which were selected according to inclusion criteria. The data were processed in SPSS version 25. Results showed that of the 254 upper first molars, 104 (41%) had the MB2 canal and 150 pieces (59%) did not. Regarding the side, 39.5% was on the right and 42.4% on the left. As for gender, 34.8% in females and 51.6% in males had the MB2 canal. Regarding age, 40.7% for those under 20 years, 55.9% for those between 20-40 years, and 64.9% for those over 40 years. Conclusion: The MB2 canal can be present on both the right and left sides, with a higher presence in males and an increased presence with age.Ítem Acceso abierto Proximity of the third molar with the inferior dental canal in computed tomographies of patients treated at the cedimax maxillofacial diagnostic center – 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-08-16) Lopez Bustinza, Maria Del Carmen; Ascanoa Olazo, Jimmy AntonioThe aim of this study was to determine the proximity of the third molar to the inferior dental canal in computed tomography scans of patients treated at the maxillofacial diagnostic center "CEDIMAX" – 2020. An observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, and descriptive study was conducted with a correlational level. The population consisted of 140 computed tomography scans, and an instrument validated by expert judgment was used for the evaluation.
