Functional capacity and its relationship with gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy from 3 to 6 years of age from a private clinic, Lima - 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-28) Alanoca Chayña, Jocelyn; Puma Chombo, Jorge Eloy
Cerebral palsy in children is one of the most frequent causes of disability, which can vary due to different sociodemographic factors and/or chronic or heterogeneous clinical diseases, limiting the child's independence or semi-dependence in their daily activities (ADLs). Many parents seek pediatric and neuropediatric consultations, and studies suggest that a child's development level depends on the type and severity of the injury and other accompanying factors. Severe gross motor impairment often leads to limited interaction, integration, cognition, and socialization, resulting in partial or total deficits in functional abilities, particularly in mobility, daily activities, and socialization. Children who maintain low postures often present with a gross motor function level 5, and emotional factors play a significant role in improving posture.

Gross Motor Function And Quality Of Life In Children With Infantil Cerebral Palsy In A Private Center, Arequipa – 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-26) Rosales Cifuentes, Morayma Rosario; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose Antonio
Understanding the level of gross motor function is related to children's quality of life, which is important as strategies for care will be developed to avoid and/or reduce the negative effects of gross motor function, ensuring the children’s rehabilitation care and treatment are not compromised.

Level of gross motor function and its relationship with eating ability in children with cerebral palsy from 4 to 12 years of age at the National Institute of Child Health - San Borja 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-30) Valdivia Loro, Jean Pierre; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose Antonio
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is one of the most frequent causes of disability. CP is a group of disorders that affect movement and posture due to an injury in the immature brain. Objective: To determine the relationship between gross motor function level and feeding ability in children with cerebral palsy aged 4 to 12 years at the National Institute of Child Health in San Borja in 2022. Materials and Methods: This is an applied, correlational research with a quantitative approach and non-experimental, cross-sectional design. Children with CP from the Physical Medicine service of INSN-SB will be evaluated, measuring the variables of motor function level and feeding ability using the GMFCS (Gross Motor Function Classification System) and EDACS (Eating and Drinking Ability Classification System) questionnaires, respectively.

Motor function and social participation of people with cerebral palsy in the town of Yauli – La Oroya - Peru, 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-17) Rojas Oscategui, Johana Carolina; Granados Carrera, Julio Cesar
Introduction: Children and adolescents with cerebral palsy represent a significant population worldwide, nationally, and regionally with motor disabilities, often presenting physical impairments that limit their participation in society. In the province of Yauli – La Oroya, these limitations are exacerbated by a lack of information, access to recreational spaces, and societal discrimination, leading to the concealment of their condition by their families. Objective: To determine the relationship between motor function and social participation of individuals with cerebral palsy in the town of Yauli, Peru, 2022. Materials and Methods: This is a correlational, cross-sectional study. The sample consists of 40 children and adolescents diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The instruments used will be the GMFCS E & R (Gross Motor Function Classification System) and the CASP Children's and Adolescent's Participation Scale.
