Ítem Acceso abierto (Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2016) Párraga Espinoza, Blanca Nievez; Mattos Vela, Manuel AntonioThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge level and oral health behaviors in 101 secondary school students from 3rd, 4th, and 5th year at the Benjamín Herencia Zevallos Educational Institution, Tintay district - Aymaraes - Apurímac, 2016. A knowledge and behavior questionnaire on oral hygiene, the modified HU-DBI (Hiroshima University-Dental Behavioral Inventory), validated and translated into Spanish by Santillán, was used. It consists of 20 questions, 10 about knowledge and 10 about behaviors. The predominant knowledge level in all three groups was average, with 20.79% in 3rd year, 20.79% in 4th year, and 32.65% in 5th year. As for behavior levels, both genders showed an average level: 40.59% in males and 51.49% in females. To establish the relationship between knowledge level and behaviors, the Chi-Square test was used. The study concluded that the knowledge level and oral health behaviors in both genders were average, with a P-value of 0.027, indicating a direct relationship between knowledge level and oral health behaviors in the students.Ítem Acceso abierto The degree of knowledge in oral health of the nursing staff that provides hospital care for Covid-19 at the Maison de Santé clinic, Lima headquarters(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-07) Munguia Vasquez, Ponky Vanessa; Marroquín García, Lorenzo EnriqueThe aim of this study is to analyze the level of oral health knowledge among nursing staff. The method used was descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 98 mothers and 98 children aged 8 to 12 years from the Thales Colina Educational Institution – Callao (Private). Additionally, 95 mothers and 95 children aged 8 to 12 years from Francisco Bolognesi Educational Institution (Public), totaling 386 participants. The instruments used were an oral health questionnaire and an intraoral clinical examination with a dental chart. The most representative results of the research revealed that both educational institutions had, for the most part, higher percentages of a “deficient” level of knowledge, and lower percentages of a “very good” level of knowledge in oral health among mothers of children aged 8 to 12 years in the mentioned institutions. Furthermore, both the public and private educational institutions mostly presented higher percentages of “severe” dental caries and lower percentages of “healthy” dental caries. Finally, it was found that there is a significant relationship between the level of oral health knowledge of mothers and the presence of cavities in children aged 8 to 12 years in both educational institutions.
