For this purpose, 30 households from the two districts were randomly selected. One-liter drinking water samples were collected in polyethylene bottles, preserved with nitric acid, and then transferred and analyzed at the Corrosion and Protection Institute of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. The ICP-MS method was used to determine the presence of total metals, with a focus on lead and cadmium. The results were processed using Excel 19.0 and SPSS Statistics 26. The results indicate that the average concentration of lead was 0.0012000 mg/L and cadmium was 0.0004133 mg/L in the drinking water, and both values did not exceed the maximum permissible limits. However, in the Cercado de Lima district, one out of 15 samples exceeded the levels for both lead and cadmium. It is concluded that while only one of the analyzed samples exceeded the maximum permissible limit and the rest were below the limits, more studies with a larger number of samples should be conducted because contamination is evident.Publicación Acceso abierto Evaluación de la calidad microbiológica y fisicoquímica del agua para consumo humano de los dispensadores de oficinas farmacéuticas del AA.HH. Mariscal Cáceres del distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho – Lima, 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-08-05) Soto Prudencio, Maria Claudia; Chávez Becerra, María Cleodesvinda; Collanque Pinto, Jesús DanielThe present work entitled “Evaluation of the Microbiological and Physicochemical Quality of Drinking Water from Dispensers in Pharmaceutical Offices of the Human Settlement Mariscal Cáceres, District of San Juan de Lurigancho – Lima, 2019” aimed to evaluate the microbiological and physicochemical quality of drinking water from dispensers. The study was non-experimental, developed in a descriptive and cross-sectional manner, and the analysis consisted of 53 samples. The membrane filtration method was used for the microbiological analysis. The results showed that 15.1% presented values above 500 CFU/mL of heterotrophic bacteria, 24.5% exceeded the maximum permissible limits of total coliforms, 9.4% showed the presence of Escherichia coli, and 28.3% of dispensers were observed in poor condition, of which 20.8% did not meet proper hygiene standards. Meanwhile, 71.7% of dispensers were observed in good condition, but within these, 1.9% did not comply with the recommended hygiene. Regarding physicochemical parameters, two aspects did not meet the permissible limits: appearance and residual free chlorine. In conclusion, 49.1% (n = 26) did not comply, while 50.9% (n = 27) did comply with the microbiological and physicochemical quality of the water.
