    Harminess of xylol and work stress in service personnel of pathological anatomy, Hospital II – 1 Moyobamba, 2022

    Xylene is a cyclic hydrocarbon and environmental contaminant, known for its carcinogenic properties. It is mainly used as a solvent in printing, rubber manufacturing, cleaning agents, paint thinners, varnishes, synthetic fibers, leather, and histopathology laboratories. Contact with xylene occurs through the eyes, skin, ingestion, and inhalation. This research aims to determine if the harmful effects of xylene are related to work stress in personnel of the pathology department at Hospital II-1 Moyobamba, 2022. An observational methodology was used with a quantitative instrument (Likert-scale questionnaire). Conclusions suggest that staff express vulnerability to stress due to exposure to harmful chemicals. Recommendations are made to improve the working conditions of pathology department personnel.
