Ítem Acceso abierto The effectiveness of unidirectional flow of processes in central sterilization in the prevention of cross-infections associated with healthcare (IAHC).(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-25) Salas Chavez, Jacoba Anni; Urquizo Angulo, Lenny Doris; Matta Solis, Hernan HugoMaterials and Methods: A systematic, observational, and retrospective review of a quantitative type, subjected to critical selection, using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos; these show that, of the total 10 articles systematically reviewed, 40% (4) correspond to Brazil; while 20% (2) to Singapore; 10% (1) to Ecuador; 10% (1) to Argentina; 10% (1) to Australia; and 10% (1) to South Africa. Results: According to the results obtained from the systematic review in this study, all the evidence found, i.e., (n=10/100%), shows that the unidirectional distribution of processes in the sterilization center is effective. Conclusion: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles on the effectiveness of unidirectional flow of processes in the sterilization center, all of which correspond to types and designs of systematic reviews, observational, longitudinal, and analytical studies, concludes that the unidirectional distribution of processes in the sterilization center is effective in reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), as controlling the quality and auditing procedures are efficient, indisputable mechanisms for preventing cross-contamination infections in healthcare settings, and it is the responsibility of the sterilization service to guarantee all stages of the process.
