Publicación Acceso abierto Características del consumo indiscriminado de la píldora del día siguiente y su relación con la salud de mujeres consumidoras en tres zonas del distrito de San Martín de Porres - Lima - Perú 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-10-16) Mendoza Tapia, Jaisia Yanell; Puertas Carrera, Patricia; Rivas Altez, WalterThis correlational, analytical, cross-sectional research work has been carried out with the objective of determining the characteristics that influence the indiscriminate intake of the morning-after pill in women from three areas of the San Martin de Porres district. The methodology used is the survey and the instruments used were a questionnaire and the previous interview. The population studied was 380 women who took the morning-after pill indiscriminately. The results indicate that the women who mostly ingest the morning-after pill with respect to age are between 21 and 31 years old; Regarding the religion of the consumers, it is revealed that those who profess the Catholic religion have the highest consumption with 84% of the studied population; Likewise, the level of education corresponds to women with secondary education with 75%; With respect to the employment situation, it is associated that women with independent jobs are the ones with the highest consumption, making up 52% of the population studied; In marital status, it was observed that single women mostly use the morning-after pill with 43%, followed by cohabiting with 28%, married with 26%. Regarding the intake of the morning-after pill and together with other hormonal contraceptives in tablets, it was observed that 90% used it together, one of the reasons for multiple intakes indicates that 38% did so because they forgot the pill. classic contraceptive pill, 30% and 15% indicated that it was due to insecurity of the contraceptive method and due to the ingestion of liquor, assuming the ineffectiveness of the traditional contraceptive method respectively. Regarding health manifestations, 32% reported menstrual irregularity with intermittent bleeding, 20% reported breast pain, anxiety 8%, weight gain 6%, and headaches 18% respectively. Regarding the bleeding manifested, it was observed that 55% had two or fewer bleedings per month, two to four bleedings per month, 23%, bleeding for more than 10 days, 15% manifested bleeding. The behavioral changes were observed: 43% showed instability or nervousness, embarrassment 36%, irritability 30%, feeling of fear or fear 16%. It is concluded that the intake of the morning-after pill is related to the health of female consumers, whether due to repetitive intake or not; likewise, its consumption is related to the sociodemographic and individualized factors specific to women.Publicación Acceso abierto Conocimientos y actitudes sobre el uso de la píldora anticonceptiva de emergencia en mujeres adultas, Cooperativa Universal, Lima, Perú 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-27) Diaz Alcantara, Jubany Maribel; Lauro Granados, Valery Nicoll; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe purpose of the study was to determine how knowledge and attitudes about the use of emergency contraceptive pills are related in a group of women. A basic, quantitative methodology was employed, involving the participation of 100 women as a sample through two questionnaires. Results: It was found that 52% of the women had a medium level of knowledge, 31.0% had a high level, and 17.0% had a low level of knowledge. On the other hand, 54% of the women exhibited an inadequate attitude toward the use of emergency contraceptive pills, while 46% demonstrated a positive attitude. Conclusion: With a Spearman correlation value of 0.695 significant at 0.000, it was concluded that knowledge is significantly and directly associated with the attitude level regarding the use of the pill under study.Publicación Acceso abierto Conocimientos y actitudes sobre el uso del anticonceptivo oral de emergencia en internos de farmacia en la Universidad Norbert Wiener, enero–mayo 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-11) Espinoza Huamanchumo, Martha Melissa; López Mendoza, Elinda; Crispín Pérez, VíctorThe aim of this research was to determine the knowledge and attitudes regarding the use of Emergency Oral Contraceptives (EOC) among pharmacy interns. This was an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study conducted with 101 interns from Norbert Wiener University. The results showed that the majority age group was 25 to 32 years (64%), with an average age of 29 years (range 21–36). Of the participants, 74% were female and 26% male; 84% identified as Catholic, 87% were single, and 82% had no children. Furthermore, 96% engaged in work activities in pharmacies/drugstores in addition to their internship duties, 81% were hospital interns, and 16% were in pharmaceutical warehouses. Knowledge was generally good regarding the mechanism of action (80%), active ingredient (82%), its non-abortive nature (78%), timeframe of use (85%), and lack of STI prevention (79%). It was regular in terms of indication (70%) and poor when considered a family planning method (55%). Attitudes were favorable toward recommending it in cases of rape (90%), to prevent pregnancy (85%), and to a family member (79%), but unfavorable regarding its distribution in health centers (58%). Practices were adequate, with appropriate reasons for use (97%), without medical prescription (88%), with medical prescription (62%), frequency of use (37% reported 1–2 times per year), and reporting of adverse effects (83%). In conclusion, pharmacy interns demonstrated good knowledge, favorable attitudes, and appropriate use of Emergency Oral Contraceptives.Publicación Acceso abierto Eficacia del levonorgestrel como anticonceptivo oral de emergencia(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Chávez Andrade, Maribel; Pérez Alvarez, Ruth Antonia Jenyfer; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjetivo: Analizar y sistematizar la eficacia del levonorgestrel como anticonceptivo oral de emergencia. Materiales y Métodos: Revisión sistemática de 10 artículos de investigación tanto nacionales como internacionales que tuvieron como tema principal la eficacia del levonorgestrel como anticonceptivo oral de emergencia. De todos los artículos que se encontraron, se incluyeron los más importantes según nivel de evidencia y se excluyeron los menos relevantes, donde se sometieron a una lectura crítica. Resultados: El 70% de los artículos demuestran que el levonorgestrel es eficaz como anticonceptivo oral de emergencia en la prevención de embarazo y coinciden que levonorgestrel es eficaz dentro de las 72 horas para prevenir el embarazo. Por ser de emergencia y no un método de anticonceptivo regular, se recomienda usarla solo 2 veces al año. Methodology: The study was hypothetical-deductive with a quantitative approach, basic type, non-experimental, and descriptive-correlational design. The representative sample consisted of 144 users who visited FARMAPERU pharmacies, and a questionnaire was used for data collection. The statistical test applied was Chi-square. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge about "emergency oral contraception," the majority had a medium level (75%), with general knowledge being low (49.3%) and medium (48.6%), knowledge about its use being medium (56.9%), and knowledge about its mode of action being low (68.1%). Regarding attitudes, the majority showed a favorable attitude (86.1%). The p-value was less than 0.05 (0.048) between "level of knowledge and attitudes." Conclusion: It was established that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes toward emergency oral contraception.Publicación Acceso abierto Uso de anticonceptivos y su asociación con las alteraciones intraepiteliales escamosas del cérvix en pacientes del Hospital Nacional San Bartolomé, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-23) Crispin Herrera, Guisel Erica; Huamán Cárdenas, Victor RaulComprender el efecto del uso de anticonceptivos en el desarrollo de las alteraciones intraepiteliales escamosas cervicales ofrece información valiosa a los profesionales de salud para que ayuden a las mujeres a tomar mejores decisiones. El objetivo fue determinar la asociación entre el uso de anticonceptivos y las alteraciones intraepiteliales escamosas del cérvix. Se aplicó un diseño observacional, cuantitativo, transversal, de casos y controles donde se incluyó a 580 pacientes tamizadas en el Hospital Nacional San Bartolomé durante el año 2023. El grupo de los casos y controles incluyó 290 cada uno con reporte Positivo y negativo respectivamente. Se encontró que al usar anticonceptivos existe 2.34 veces más riesgo de desarrollar alguna alteración intraepitelial escamosa con una asociación significativa (OR=2.34, 1.67-3.27 I.C. 95%; p˂0.001). Además, se halló mayor riesgo de desarrollar dicha alteración en las que usaron anticonceptivos orales (OR=2.12, 1.11-4.02 I.C. 95%; p=0.02) y anticonceptivos inyectables (OR=2.00, 1.28-3.12 I.C. 95%; p˂0.002). Sin embargo, no se encontró una asociación en pacientes que emplearon DIU (OR=1.00, 0.35-2.88 I.C. 95%; p=1.00) e implantes anticonceptivos (OR=1.46, 0.72-2.95 I.C. 95%; p=0.289). Se concluyó que existe una asociación significativa entre el uso de anticonceptivos y las alteraciones antes mencionadas en las pacientes del HONADOMANI.
