Publicación Acceso abierto Incidencia y gravedad de las reacciones adversas relacionadas al uso de los medios de contraste endovenosos en pacientes atendidos en la Clínica Internacional, sede Lima 2014-2016(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-21) Huarcaya Mayta, Jean Paúl; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraThe present thesis aimed to determine the incidence and severity of adverse reactions related to the use of intravenous contrast media in patients attended at the Imaging Unit of Clínica Internacional, Lima, from 2014 to 2016. Methodology: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted, with retrospective data collection. A total of 60,000 patient cases who received contrast media in the Imaging Unit of Clínica Internacional were analyzed. Results: The incidence of adverse reactions related to contrast media was 6–7 per 10,000 cases. Females had the highest incidence, with 33 of 40 cases, most of which were mild in severity. The age group with the highest incidence was 30–39 years, accounting for 14 of 40 cases. Regarding the type of contrast media, 82.5% (33 cases) of adverse reactions were associated with Ioversol, and 17.5% (7 cases) with Gadoterate meglumine. Conclusion: The incidence of adverse reactions related to the use of contrast media at Clínica Internacional is very low, and most reactions are mild in severity.Publicación Acceso abierto Reacciones adversas de los medios de contraste en pacientes atendidos en la Clínica Internacional, sede San Borja de enero a diciembre 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-06-22) Navarro Sánchez, Elita; Caldas Herrera, EmmaThe objective of this thesis was to determine the adverse reactions linked to the use of contrast media in patients treated in the imaging diagnostics unit of the "Clínica Internacional," San Borja branch, from January to December 2019. Methodology: The study methodology was a basic descriptive-retrospective type, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of medical indications from the attending physician obtained in the imaging area. Data collection forms for patients who presented adverse reactions were used as the instrument to measure the study variables. Results: The adverse reactions presented by the patients were dermatological reactions (79.6% or 41 cases) and respiratory reactions (4.5% or 3 cases). The gender with the highest incidence was female (63.6% or 28), and the most frequent age group was adults (29 to 49 years) at 70.5% (31). Conclusion: The most frequent adverse reactions related to the use of contrast media in patients treated in the imaging area were cutaneous eruption (rash) and pruritus (itching), with 36.4% and 15.9% of cases, respectively.
