Effectiveness of high-frequency oscillatory ventilation versus continuous positive airway pressure in reducing complications in premature neonates with respiratory distress syndrome
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-06-12) De La Cruz Calderon, Raquel; Sánchez Rojas, María Milagros; Mori Castro, Jaime Alberto
Material and Methods: It is a retrospective and observational systematic review subject to critical reading and using the GRADE system as an evaluation tool for the recognition of the quality of scientific evidence published in the subsequent sources of information PubMed, Elsevier, Epistemonikos, Researchgate and Sciencedirect . Within the 10 articles systematically analyzed, 90% of high quality and 10% of moderate quality were detailed as follows: 20% (n= 2/10) were meta-analysis, 10% (n= 1/10) were systematic reviews. , 60% (n= 6/10) are Randomized Controlled Trial studies and 10% (n= 1/10) are cohort studies and correspond to the countries from China (50%), Iran (20%), United Kingdom (10%), Italy (10%) and Germany (10) %. Results: 90% (14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,23) indicate that non-invasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation is effective compared to nasal continuous positive airway pressure to reduce Complications in the premature newborn with respiratory distress syndrome. 10% (n=1/10) (22) indicate that non-invasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation is not effective Material and Methods: It is a retrospective and observational systematic review subject to critical reading and using the GRADE system as an evaluation tool. for the recognition of the quality of scientific evidence published in the subsequent information sources PubMed, Elsevier, Epistemonikos, Researchgate and Sciencedirect. Conclusion: In 9 of the 10 articles it is evident that non-invasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation is effective compared to continuous positive nasal pressure in the airways to reduce “complications in premature newborns with respiratory distress syndrome”15.
