    Knowledge of clinical hand washing among nursing professionals in the ICU at Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital, 2022

    Introduction: Hand washing hygiene is the easiest and most economical procedure that exists, its effectiveness depends greatly on the commitment of all health professionals in the different hospital areas, its lack of adequate compliance with hand washing would bring complications in the health of patients and staff generating Health Care Associated Infections (HAI). The WHO implemented the so-called “five moments for hand hygiene” so that it can be applied not only by health professionals, but also by patients themselves for the prevention of infections. Objective: Determine the level of knowledge of clinical handwashing in the nursing professional of the intensive care service of the Daniel Alcides Carrión 2020 hospital. Identify knowledge about clinical handwashing in the generalities, moments and technique dimension. Methods: The study will be a transversal descriptive method at the level of quantitative application. The population will be made up of 20 health professionals - nurses who work in ICU services. Sample selection will not be carried out since we will work with the total population. The technique will be the interview and the instrument will be the questionnaire applied after informed consent.
