This study aimed to determine the sociocultural factors associated with attending the Pap smear test at the Juan Pablo II Maternal and Child Center. It was a correlational cross-sectional study with a sample of 200 women aged 18 to 65. The results showed that sociodemographic factors such as age, marital status, place of birth, parity, and number of sexual partners were significant. Regarding cognitive factors, knowledge level was not associated with attending the test (p: 0.184), but family-related factors such as partner motivation and self-motivation were significant. Cultural factors, such as shame and fear of a positive result, were also significantly related. Fifty-one percent of women underwent the Pap smear every two or three years, and 30% did so annually. The study concluded that several sociocultural factors are associated with attending the Pap smear test, recommending promoting support from partners or family members in consultations, as well as enhancing self-esteem and organizing informational talks for the general public.

Cultural factors related to the habit food in pregnant women
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-08) Huaraca Rojas, Dora; Alfaro Fernández, Paul Rubén
Objective: To describe and analyze scientific evidence regarding cultural factors related to the dietary habits of pregnant women. Design: The study was a qualitative narrative review. Scope of the study: An exhaustive search of scientific articles published in various virtual databases was conducted. Subjects of the study: It included 33 articles published in virtual databases such as Scielo, Lilacs, and PubMed, during the period from 2016 to 2021. Results: Twenty-eight percent of the reviewed studies employed a cross-sectional methodology. Most studies reported a population where marital status was single, educational level was secondary school, and occupation was homemaking. Beliefs and myths about dietary habits included the notion that pregnant women must eat for two, that working too much is harmful during pregnancy, and that failing to satisfy cravings causes marks on the newborn. Dietary habits among pregnant women were found to be inadequate. Conclusions: The reviewed scientific evidence demonstrates that cultural factors are related to the dietary habits of pregnant women.

Factors associated with the father's participation in the obstetric psychoprophylaxis sessions of the C.S. Jicamarca, JUNE – September 2018
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-18) Herrera Valdivia, Astrid Carolina; Ojeda Gómez, Flora; Marín Guevara, Leticia Gloria
Objective: Observational, Analytical, Cross-sectional, Prospective Study. Among the participants, 58% had a secondary education level, and 44% had one child. Regarding cultural factors, 77% were from the North and East sectors of Jicamarca. 55% of respondents attended one to three sessions of obstetric psychoprophylaxis, while 53% did not plan their pregnancy. 85% were aware of obstetric psychoprophylaxis topics, and 90% believed that these sessions were beneficial for both the mother and the baby. Additionally, 53% were self-employed, and 52% worked in the mornings. 85% of fathers participated in at least one session of obstetric psychoprophylaxis. Demographic factors such as being over 30 years old, having a higher education level, being single, separated, or divorced, and having more than one child, along with cultural factors such as coming from the North and East, not planning the pregnancy, and lacking knowledge about obstetric psychoprophylaxis, were identified as barriers to partner participation in psychoprophylaxis sessions. Work-related factors, including independent and temporary work, as well as night or early morning shifts, were identified as risk factors for partner participation in the psychoprophylaxis sessions for pregnant women.
