Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of barrier products in patients with dermatitis associated with incontinence (DAI) in the intensive care unit.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-27) Carbajal Almerco, Magno Sixto; Matta Solis, Eduardo PercyObjective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of barrier products in the treatment of (DAI) in patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Methodology: systematic reviews, studies duly selected in response to know the effectiveness of different research related to improving health, choosing 10 articles with scientific databases and meeting selection criteria. Results were obtained mainly in this research, 30% from Belgium, 20% Spain, 10% London, 10% South Korea, 10% Australia, 10% New York, and 10% Germany. Research design 70% corresponding to systematic reviews, 30% to cross-sectional cohort studies. Regarding the evidence, 80% resulted in; an effectiveness of barrier products for the treatment of (DAI), in the ICU. While 20% found no evidence in barrier products in dermatitis associated with incontinence. Conclusion: Barrier products are effective in ICUs (DAI), significantly reducing the presence of erythema, pain, burning, itching or tingling in the affected areas, and are also less expensive since they are used less frequently.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nursing interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with dermatitis associated with incontinence(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-04) Araujo Nina, Rosa Luz; Núñez Luna, Patricia María; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of nursing interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis. Materials and Methods: This study was quantitative, with an observational and retrospective systematic review design, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary research studies. The population consisted of a review of 30 articles, with a sample of 10 full-text articles selected for critical reading. The selected articles were subjected to a critical review using the GRADE system, which emerged as an international initiative aimed at optimizing the evaluation of evidence quality and the grading of recommendation strength. Instruments: Databases used included Lilacs, Lipecs, PubMed, Medline, Ebsco, Scielo, Cochrane Plus, and Elsevier. Results: The systematic review identified 10 articles that report the effectiveness of nursing interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis. In terms of type and design, 80% were quantitative experimental studies and 20% were meta-analyses. Conclusions: The reviewed studies evidenced the effectiveness of nursing interventions, through health education and skin care, in the prevention of pressure injuries in patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of skin protectors in preventing periostomal skin lesions in colostomized patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) De La Cruz Mendoza, Eva Emilia; Vargas Gastelú, Claudia Rudy; Mendigure Fernández, JulioObservational and retrospective systematic review, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations of the 10 scientific articles on the effectiveness of skin protectors in the prevention of peristomal skin lesions. 100% (n=10/10) of these show that skin protectors are effective in preventing and regenerating peristomal and/or perilesional skin lesions; reducing the presence of erythema, dermatitis, redness and denudation of the skin, contributing to pain control and patient comfort.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of topical products for the treatment of dermatitis associated with incontinence in geriatric patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-05) Bardón Matos, Ruth María; Vilcapoma Aire, Ruth; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoMaterial and Methods: The Systemic Review of international research articles is carried out, which have been obtained by searching the databases: PubMed, Elsevier, Scielo, and Science Direct, which have been chosen and analyzed using the GRADE System to locate the respective degree of evidence. The search for articles was carried out using the DECS and MESH descriptors for the search in Spanish and English respectively. Results: It is observed that when evaluating the articles, the result was that 20% (2/10) of the articles reviewed correspond to Belgium, 10% (1/10) of the articles reviewed correspond to Italy, the 10% (1/10) corresponds to England, 10% (1/10) corresponds to the United States, 10% (1/10) corresponds to Australia, 10% (1/10) corresponds to the Philippines, 10% (1/10) corresponds to Ireland, 10% (1/10) corresponds to Portugal and 10% (1/10) corresponds to Spain. Conclusions: It is found that 7 of the 10 evidence studied conclude that there is little evidence, of very low to moderate quality, on the effectiveness of interventions to prevent and treat incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) in the geriatric population.
