Methodology: This is a descriptive, correlational study with a non-experimental design and cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 1,150 children under 3 years old, with a sample of 288 children from the districts of Huando (144) and Ascensión (144). The technique used was a survey, with 47 items from the KPI to measure nutritional status and the 24-hour dietary recall. Chi-square (Chi2) statistics were used for hypothesis testing. Results: 69.4% exhibited inadequate eating habits, 38.2% suffered from acute malnutrition, 31.2% had chronic malnutrition, and 30.6% had a normal nutritional status. Conclusion: With two degrees of freedom and p-value = 0.00, a significant relationship was found between eating habits and nutritional status in children under 3 years old in the districts of Huando and Ascensión, Huancavelica.
