Ítem Acceso abierto Coping strategies and their relationship with the level of daily stress in children aged 5 - 12 years with type 1 diabetes mellitus in isolation due to a pandemic. Lambayeque regional hospital, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-17) Tapia Guzmán, Ytala Vanessa; Bastidas Solis, Miriam CeciliaObjective: Determine the relationship between coping and daily stress in children aged 5 - 12 years with type 1 diabetes mellitus in isolation due to the Lambayeque Regional Hospital 2021 pandemic. Methodology: The method is hypothetical deductive, with a quantitative approach, applied type with correlational design. non-experimental, the population will be made up of a total of 50 children selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria taken in the research. Data collection techniques and instruments: To collect information on the variable: Coping strategy, the survey technique will be used, with the instrument “Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI)” which consists of 41 items grouped into 8 dimensions. To collect information on the variable: Stress level, the survey technique will be used with the instrument called “IECI - Childhood Everyday Stress Inventory” that contains 22 items evaluating 3 dimensions. Procedures: The data will be collected in the area of the endocrinology specialty - diabetes mellitus strategy of the Lambayeque Regional Hospital, during a period of one month. Once the information is obtained, the data will be processed in the SPSS v24 program statistics. Statistical analysis: descriptive statistics, frequencies (f) and proportions (%) will be applied to verify the correlation of the study where the data will be processed using the Spearman and Kendall statistics.Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: effect of a gluten-free diet on the metabolism and development of pediatric patients with celiac disease and type 1 diabetes(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-08) Bazán García, Diana Yubitza; Bohórquez Medina, Sofia LorenaThere is increasing knowledge about the emergence of associated autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes and celiac disease, primarily in the pediatric population. These patients require gluten-free diets. However, such diets could have a high glycemic index and low adherence. This review aimed to understand the effect of a gluten-free diet on the growth and metabolism of children with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease. The five phases of Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology were used. After developing the strategy, a search was performed in Pubmed, Science Direct, Wos, Embase, and Scopus databases. 20 articles were selected and evaluated using the CASPE critical reading tool. The article analyzed for the critical review presented a level of evidence I and a strong recommendation grade. This allowed us to conclude that proper adherence to a gluten-free diet enables good metabolic control and proper growth in pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of NPH insulin versus insulin glargine in the treatment of type I diabetic patients.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-01-27) Alzate Giraldo, Maria Elenit; Boñon Moreno, Rosa Mili; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerIt is a systematic review aimed at gathering all empirical evidence that meets pre-established eligibility criteria to answer a specific research question. It uses systematic and explicit methods chosen to minimize bias, thereby providing more reliable results from which conclusions can be drawn and decisions made. The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles on the efficacy of antithrombolytic agents in patients with acute myocardial infarction treated in emergency units was found in the following databases: Lilacs, Scielo, PubMed, Medline, and EBSCO. All studies correspond to the following study types and designs: 1 Systematic Review, 3 Cohorts, and 6 Cross-Sectional Studies. Results: 100% of the studies included in the systematic review (n=10/10) show the therapeutic efficacy of antithrombolytic agents in patients with acute myocardial infarction, allowing the recovery of ischemic areas, reducing mortality from acute myocardial infarction, and increasing survival in patients affected by acute myocardial infarction. Conclusions: The efficacy of antithrombolytic agents in patients with acute myocardial infarction treated in emergency units was demonstrated.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of NPH insulin versus insulin glargine in the treatment of type I diabetic patients.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-01-27) Boñon Moreno, Rosa Mili; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerMaterials and Methods: This is a qualitative study, a systematic review of 10 articles on nursing education, self-care, and chronic kidney disease. These articles were published within the last 5 years in English and Spanish, and were found in the following databases: Pubmed, Scielo, and Cochrane Plus, and were subjected to a critical reading. Results: A total of 10 articles were analyzed, with 40% highlighting the increase in knowledge about chronic kidney disease, 20% emphasizing improvements in diet control as a result of nursing education, 20% discussing adherence to dialysis treatment, pharmacological compliance, and vaccination. Another 10% referred to infection prevention, family guidance, promotion of comfortable environments, and control of nitrogenous substances. The remaining 10% described coping techniques for anxiety and depression. Conclusion: 100% of the articles demonstrate the effectiveness of nursing education in patients, as it increases their self-care ability regarding the disease, with healthy habits, improving quality of life, preventing risks, reducing morbidity and mortality, and delaying the progression of chronic kidney disease from its early stages.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk of eating disorders in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus in the medicine service at the María Auxiliadora Hospital, Lima – 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-05-30) Cacñahuaray Prado, Staicy Claudia; Remuzgo Artezano, AnikaObjective: Determine the risk of eating disorders in patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus of the Medicine Service - Hospital María Auxiliadora, Lima - 2019. Material and methods: The present study has a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach. The population was made up of 85 patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus hospitalized during the month of May 2019 in the Medicine service of the María Auxiliadora Hospital. The instrument used was the Diabetes Eating Problems Survey, summarized and internationally validated. The reliability of the instrument was carried out through the pilot test, showing a very high internal consistency (α = 0.793). Results: Of 100% (85) of the population, 80% (68) did not present a risk of Eating Disorders (ED), and 20% (17) presented a risk of ED; Likewise, the risk of eating disorders, according to the eating attitudes dimension, presented 81% (69) risk; According to the bulimic behavior dimension, 82% (70) were not at risk; According to weight control dimension, 73% (62) presented no risk; According to the avoidance dimension, 66% (56) presented no risk; and, according to restriction dimension, it presented 99% (84) of no risk. Conclusions: The population of patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, for the most part, did not present a risk of ED; However, according to dimensions, there is a risk of ED in the eating attitudes dimension and no risk of ED was found in the bulimic behaviors, weight control, avoidance and restriction dimensions.
