Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of low-protein diet in patients with chronic renal failure.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-12) Del Río Perales, Erika Diana; Rengifo Terrones, Jenny; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To analyze and systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of a hypoproteic diet in patients with chronic kidney failure. Materials and Methods: A systematic and observational review methodology was used, analyzing 10 full articles, critically reviewed, using databases such as Infomed, Medisan, Mdpi, Medline, Scielo, CARI Guidelines, Cochrane, PubMed, evaluated using the GRADE method. Results: 50% of the reviewed articles provide evidence of the effectiveness of the hypoproteic diet in patients with chronic kidney failure due to nutritional control and improvements in renal function, thus reducing the incidence of renal death. 30% of the studies emphasize the importance of early nutritional assessment in the management and treatment of patients. Finally, 20% of the studies highlight that hospital malnutrition is high, and thus, systematic evaluation of nutritional status contributes to identifying patients at risk. Conclusion: Of the 10 articles, it is concluded that most studies related to the hypoproteic diet in patients with chronic kidney failure are effective, as it controlled nutritional status and improved renal function, reducing the incidence of renal death in these patients.
