Materials and Methods: Systematic review, compiled and analyzed based on studies published in internet search engines such as: PUBMED, SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADÉMICO, EMBASE. Guaranteeing the quality and strength of the research, suggested according to the GRADE system. Results: Articles that provide reliable products were selected, taking into account the authenticity of the studies reviewed, extracting crucial information. The research is mostly synthesis of evidence and meta-analysis. 10 articles were chosen, 20% of the research corresponded to the USA, 10% to Argentina, 10% to Australia, 10% to the United Kingdom, 10% to China, 10% to India, 10% to Brazil, 10% to Nigeria and 10% Taiwan. 60% of the studies carried out demonstrate that directly observed treatment ensures cure, to this is added nursing counseling and its constant monitoring that prevents abandonment and possible relapse in patients with tuberculosis. Conclusion. 60% of the studies demonstrate the effectiveness of directly observed treatment to increase cure rates, reduce dropouts and relapses, in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with copy-positive bacilli.
