This was a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, and prospective study. The sample consisted of 98 dentists of both genders from the district of San Martín de Porres, selected according to inclusion criteria using simple random sampling. The instrument used was a survey with 11 questions, validated through expert judgment, considering the Code of Ethics and Deontology (Questions 1 and 5), the Dentist's Work Law (Questions 2, 3, and 4), the Ministry of Health's Technical Health Standard No. 113 (Modified) (Questions 6, 7, 8, and 9), and the National Superintendency of Health's Regulations on Infractions and Sanctions (Questions 10 and 11). The survey included five alternatives for each question, rated as good, regular, or bad, and was completed voluntarily in person by the investigator. Results: The level of knowledge about the duties and obligations governing dental practice in the district of San Martín de Porres, Lima-Peru, 2017 was considered regular by 59%, with 69% of respondents aged between 30 and 50 years, and 69% with a regular professional practice. Conclusion: Dentists in the district of San Martín de Porres have a regular level of knowledge regarding the duties and obligations that govern dental practice in the country.
