The objective of this research was to determine the impact of family sociodemographic factors on oral health-related quality of life in children aged three to five years from public educational institutions in the district of Pachacámac, 2017. The study was observational, prospective, cross-sectional, and descriptive. The sample consisted of 182 children aged three to five years, who underwent oral cavity examinations using a dental record sheet to assess dental problems such as caries, dentoalveolar trauma, and malocclusion. The child's caregiver was given the ECOHIS (Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale) and a questionnaire to evaluate sociodemographic characteristics of the family members. The results showed a statistically significant relationship (p>0.000) between early childhood caries and quality of life in children aged three to five years. Additionally, when correlating the sociodemographic factors of the caregiver with the ECOHIS, a significant relationship was found between home ownership (0.016) and the child's age (0.047). The frequency of dental caries was 92.3%, dentoalveolar trauma 2.2%, and anterior malocclusions 5.5%, indicating that in early childhood, the impact on the quality of life of the children deteriorates. It was concluded that the impact of oral health conditions and sociodemographic factors on the quality of life in children aged three to five years is statistically significant concerning the child’s age and home ownership.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-10-30) Villegas Torres, Wendy Luz; Marroquín García, Lorenzo Enrique
The objective of this study was to determine the association between early childhood caries and iron deficiency anemia in children aged 2 to 5 years treated at the nursing service of the Mi Perú Health Center - Callao, 2022. Methodology: The study was observational, cross-sectional, and analytical. Convenience non-probability sampling was used, and the sample consisted of 59 children aged 36 to 71 months who were seen at the nursing service and presented with early childhood caries and anemia during the clinical examination. Data collection was performed through observation and questionnaires, using information collection instruments. For statistical analysis, Excel and SPSS 26 programs were used, and the Chi2 non-parametric statistic was applied for inferential study. Results: With a 95% confidence level, a chi-square value of 28.678 with 1 degree of freedom and statistical significance showing a value of 0.00, it was established that the p-value was less than 0.05. This result allows for the acceptance of the research hypothesis. Conclusions: The type of caries is associated with the presence of anemia

Relationship between early childhood caries and hemoglobin values in children aged 2 to 5 years from the primary care center II Lurín - ESSALUD, Lima, 2019.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-04-25) Zurita Huamán, Nancy; Salcedo Rioja, Mercedes Rita
The aim of this study was to establish the relationship between early childhood caries and hemoglobin levels in children aged 2 to 5 years attending the Primary Health Care Center II Lurín – EsSalud, Lima, 2019. The methodology used was a hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, basic type, retrospective, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of 2500 children, and the sample included 200 children. One instrument assessed early childhood caries, and another assessed hemoglobin levels, both created by the researcher. The most representative results showed that as age increases, the severity of caries increases significantly (p<0.00); and by gender, there were no significant differences between boys and girls (p<0.013). Age varied, but there was no trend, and the differences in anemia levels were not significantly different. According to gender, girls presented mild (30.9%) and moderate (15.5%) anemia levels compared to boys, although these differences were not statistically significant. No significant association was found between nutritional status measured as height (adequate/inadequate) and weight (adequate/inadequate). In each age group, a significant association was found between hemoglobin levels and caries severity. According to gender, in males, there was a significant association between caries severity and hemoglobin levels (p<0.00), and a relationship was found between early childhood caries and hemoglobin levels (p<0.00).
