Ítem Acceso abierto Correlation of chronological age with bone and dental age in carpal and panoramic radiographs with the greulich and pyle atlas and the dermijian method in patients aged 6 to 12 years _ lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-08-21) Chagere Palomino, Carolina; Chero Guevara, Jorge AlfredoThe objective of this research was to determine the correlation between chronological age and bone and dental age in carpal and panoramic radiographs using the Greulich and Pyle atlas and the Demirjian method in patients aged 6 to 12 years in Lima, 2022. The study was applied, cross-sectional, retrospective, and correlational. The population consisted of 140 radiographs of patients aged 6 to 12 years of both sexes. Data was collected using a data collection form that included gender, age, sex, and the corresponding stage along with the atlas used. It was demonstrated that in the vast majority of cases, there is a correlation between chronological age and dental age, with dental age being higher than chronological age; however, in some cases, no correlation was observed, and only in a few cases was there a difference in dental age, which was lower than chronological age. Pearson correlation for chronological age was 1, and for dental age (CP), it was -0.301 with a significance of -0.398 (bilateral), and for bone age (CP), it was -0.098 with a significance of 0.789. It was concluded that there is a significant correlation between chronological, dental, and bone age at each point determined.
