Dietary habits related to nutritional status during confinement among workers at Clínica Control Vital – 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-19) Sivipaucar Mamani, Sandy Sayury; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan Haydee
The main purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between eating habits and nutritional status during confinement in the workers of the Vital Control Clinic - 2021. Methodology: For the applied type of this research, it was decided to carry out the analysis following a quantitative approach, with the application of a non-experimental design, and corresponding to the correlational descriptive level, achieving data collection from the responses of the 80 workers of the Vital Control Clinic after taking the height, weight and BMI, within of the anthropometric data, as well as applying the Workers' Eating Habits Questionnaire (CHAET). Results: Among the results obtained, 82.50% of the workers surveyed observe a medium level of their eating habits, these being considered “moderately healthy.” Likewise, 17.50% of those surveyed present a low level of their eating habits, constituting these as “unhealthy”. At the descriptive level, 45.00% of the workers surveyed are overweight, followed by 28.75% who have a normal weight and 26.25% have grade I obesity. At the correlational level, there is between Eating habits Healthy and nutritional status a significant relationship (p=0.000<0.050), moderate and direct (Rho=-0.632), that is, as the eating habits improve, nutritional status improves.

Effectiveness of an educational intervention on breastfeeding during the prenatal stage to extend breastfeeding duration
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-05-19) Vasquez Valverde, Sayda Isabel; Valles Rios, Katty Gloria; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa María
OBJECTIVE: Systematize the effectiveness of an educational intervention on breastfeeding in the prenatal stage to prolong breastfeeding times. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospective and observational systematic review [SR], in a sample of 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases, no older than ten years and that responded to articles published internationally and nationally, in Spanish. Spanish. RESULTS: In the final selection we worked with 10 articles, finding that 60% (06) correspond to Cuba, while 20% (02) are Spain and 10% (2) are Brazil and Costa Rica respectively. Having largely studied the quasi-experimental with 40% (4) and experimental also with 40% (4), we found 10% (1) case and control and 10% (1) systematic review. Where the total of articles reviewed 100%(10) ensure that educational intervention in the prenatal stage on breastfeeding prolongs breastfeeding times. CONCLUSIONS: According to the evidence reviewed, it is concluded that 10/10 studies conclude that educational intervention in the prenatal stage on breastfeeding in mothers prolongs breastfeeding times.

Effectiveness of nutritional education for better dietary adherence and improvement of renal function in adult patients with chronic kidney disease.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-06) Vilca Gamarra, Noelia Jackeline; Dávila Córdova, Jennifer Estefania
The clinical question was: Will nutritional education allow better dietary adherence and improvement in kidney function in patients with chronic kidney disease? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, SCIELO, SCOPUS, WILEY, LILACS, DIALNET, COCHRANE; Finding 20 articles, 12 were selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the Randomized Clinical Trial entitled: Hemodialysis Self-management Intervention Randomized Trial (HED-SMART): A Practical Low-Intensity Intervention to Improve Adherence and Clinical Markers in Patients Receiving Hemodialysis; which has a level of evidence I and Grade of Recommendation I, according to the expertise of the researcher. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that Nutrition Education through the HED-SMART Program is effective and improves the behavior of patients, in terms of adherence to dietary intake, fluid intake, medical treatment, better kidney function (improvement of biochemical markers) and improvement of self-care skills in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis.

Hemoglobin variation during an educational intervention in children 6 to 35 months of age attended in health facilities of the first level of care MINSA in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, Peru, 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-12) Huaman Merjildo, Wendy Thalia; Huancare Medina, Christian Francie; Cruz Maldonado, Rosa Elena
Anemia is a severe public health problem in Peru, and its magnitude has not changed in the last 10 years. In Metropolitan Lima, it remains unchanged, despite state efforts, and the consequences it causes. The general objective of the study was to analyze the variation of hemoglobin during an educational intervention in children aged 6 to 35 months attending 2 primary health care centers in San Juan de Lurigancho, Peru, 2023. The intervention consisted of 3 group educational sessions over 3 months (topics: anemia and iron-rich foods, complementary feeding, and hand washing, reinforcing both topics), followed by in-person consultations, virtual follow-up via social media weekly or bi-weekly, and the distribution of powdered blood with instructions to consume 5g daily, the amount needed to meet daily iron requirements for this population. The median hemoglobin at the start was 10.6 g/dL, and at the end, it was 11.5 g/dL, with a statistically significant difference. The level of hemoglobin variation of 0.5g/dL or more was 60.5%. It was concluded that the educational intervention led to a significant variation in hemoglobin levels in children aged 6 to 35 months.

Nutritional Issues in Health-Related Weekly Dispensed Around Four Category III Hospitals in Central Lima, 2019
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-20) Del Carpio Carhuas, Thirza Daniela; Torres Najar, Melissa Elba; Lozada Urbano, Michelle Fátima
Objective: To assess the nutritional content of the information obtained in health weeklies distributed in the surroundings of four category III hospitals in Central Lima. Methodology: The research has a mixed and cross-sectional approach. 37 copies of 4 weeklies aimed at health were purchased (My health, Natural health, Sol, medic and beauty and Health, money and love) which kept their editions on sale during the time of data collection. Result: The weeklies with the highest percentage of pages dedicated to nutrition are Mi Salud (41.67%), Salud Natural (48.6%) and those with the lowest percentage are Sol, medic y beauty (19.37%) and Salud, mone y love (18.34%). Of the 185 articles, three groups were classified that determined the validity of the information. 50% of the articles contained correct information, 46% incorrect information and 4% counterproductive information. Conclusion: This study reveals that 46% of nutrition publications contain incorrect nutritional information and 4% are called counterproductive. This indicates that editors are not applying journalistic principles and shows the importance of interdisciplinary work, between nutritionists and journalists, when it comes to population health.
