(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-23) Tanco Cirilo, Yovana Martina; Calsin Pacompia, Wilmer
Objective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and work stress among nurses in the Gynecology and Obstetrics department of the Madre Niño San Bartolomé Teaching Hospital in 2018. Material and Methods: This was a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study. The sample consisted of 40 nurses, and data collection was conducted using the survey technique. The instruments used were the Trait Meta-Mood Scale for emotional intelligence and The Nursing Stress Scale for work stress. Statistical processing was carried out using the SPSS 24 statistical software. Results: 67.5% of the nurses showed an average level of emotional intelligence development, while 17.5% demonstrated a good level of emotional intelligence development, particularly in its dimensions. Most nurses presented an average level of emotional intelligence development, ranging from 50.0% to 67.5%. Regarding work stress, 57.5% of the nurses experienced moderate work stress, while 42.5% experienced low work stress. In almost all dimensions, the majority exhibited moderate work stress levels ranging from 57.5% to 87.5%, except in the dimension "problems with hierarchy," where 55.0% had low work stress. To establish the relationship between emotional intelligence and work stress, the chi-square test was applied, resulting in 0.081. Conclusion: There is no relationship between emotional intelligence and work stress among nurses in the Gynecology and Obstetrics department of the Madre Niño San Bartolomé Teaching Hospital.

Knowledge and attitude of the nursing staff regarding the prevention of pressure injuries, intensive care unit of the Rezola hospital, Lima, 2022.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-06-26) Rivas Rodriguez, Kiara Fernanda; Cárdenas de Fernández, María Hilda
Pressure injuries represent a public health problem that greatly affects patients who spend more time bedridden in a hospital, so it is important that nursing professionals have the necessary knowledge to provide good care to patients, and thus prevent their appearance. This is how the present research work will aim to determine the relationship between the knowledge and attitude of nursing staff towards the prevention of pressure injuries, Intensive Care Unit of Rezola Hospital, Lima, 2022. To do this, we will work with a methodology based on the deductive method, with a quantitative approach, of an applied type, and of a non-experimental design. The questionnaire adapted from the original English version called Pressure Injury Prevention Knowledge (PIPK) questionnaire will be applied to measure the variable knowledge about pressure injury prevention; and the Attitude toward Pressure Ulcer tool (APuP) questionnaire to measure the attitude variable. The study will be carried out taking into account the five principles of the Belmont report.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-04-10) Sulca Pariona, Alicia; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
Objective: To systematize the evidence on the role of the nurse in pediatric palliative care. Material and Methods: A quantitative, observational, retrospective systematic review was carried out, subjected to critical selection, using the Grade evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos. Results: Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 60% (n= 6/10) are systematic reviews and 40% (n= 4/10) are descriptive. According to the results obtained from the systematic review carried out in the present study, they come from the countries of Spain (70%), followed by Cuba (10%), the United Kingdom (10%) and Brazil (10%). Conclusion: Certainly, nurses play an important role in the care of children who live, suffer and die from life-threatening conditions. More research is needed to continue to advance the science of pediatric palliative nursing care, to further improve our understanding of how to improve the lives and decrease the suffering of these vulnerable children and their families who are at high risk for negative outcomes.
