Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of chemical indicators compared with biological indicators in certifying the sterilization quality of surgical medical equipment in sterilization units(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-04) Leiva Mucha, Irma Nora; Cárdenas Orcón, Lesvia; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerSystematize the available evidence on the effectiveness of chemical indicators compared to biological indicators in the certification of the quality of sterilization of medical-surgical material in sterilization centers. Materials and methods: The type of study was quantitative, the design corresponds to a systematic review, population 23 articles and the sample is a systematic review of 10 articles, various scientific articles were found and for this the database instrument was used Medline, Lilacs, Pubmed, Sicelo, Intramed. A critical and intensive evaluation of each article was carried out, from which the quality of the evidence and the strength of recommendation for each article was determined through the GRADE Method. Results: Of the total of 10 articles reviewed, 100% (n= 1/10) show that the effectiveness of biological indicators is greater than chemical indicators in the certification of the quality of sterilization of medical surgical material in sterilization centers, however Within the framework of what has been described, we must state that the use of Biological Indicators IBs as a control tool to guarantee success in sterilization processes should not only occur due to the limitations of the rest of the indicators such as chemicals, but also due to the low reliability of these indicators.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of manual washing compared to automatic washing in cleaning surgical medical instruments(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-04) Torres Ocampo, Maribel Yesica; Abarca Diaz, Carmen Monica; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: Analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of manual washing compared to automatic washing in cleaning surgical medical instruments. Materials and Methods: Quantitative type of study. Design: Systematic, observational and retrospective review, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. using the grade system to determine its strength and quality of evidence Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, we found that 80% affirm that automatic washing is more effective than manual washing, likewise 10% indicate that washing manual is effective, in the same way the 10% indicate that manual and automated washing is effective in cleaning instruments. Conclusions: It was evident in the research reviewed that there is effectiveness in automated washing, thus reducing the bacterial load and being safer to achieve an adequate sterilization procedure.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the use of double gloves compared to the use of single gloves to reduce perforations and percutaneous injuries in surgical personnel(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-11-12) Ramires Ortiz, Milagros del Rosario; Sánchez Asparrin, Jacqueline Lucía; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioMethodology: Systematic review of randomized controlled trials, cohort and analytical cross-sectional studies on surgical gloves; The search was restricted to articles with full text in the Elsevier, Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline, Clinical Key, Cochrane Plus databases. These articles were subjected to critical reading, using the Sistema Grade evaluation to identify their quality of evidence and strength of recommendation. Results: According to the evidence found, 100% of the authors report that the use of double gloves is effective compared to the use of single gloves as protection for surgical personnel in reducing perforations and percutaneous injuries, as they conclude that the use of double gloves It has more than 90% protection for both the patient and the surgical team, thus reducing contact with blood and body fluids. Conclusions: It was evident that the use of double gloves is more effective than the use of single gloves to reduce perforations and percutaneous injuries in surgical personnel. Therefore, based on the result of the systematic review of articles, double gloving is a strategy that members of the surgical team should adopt to minimize risk and increase safety during surgeries.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge of the handling of surgical instruments before their delivery to the sterilization center in the technical nursing staff of the hospitalization services in a private clinic.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-10-25) Obando Romero, Kharla Yrene; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaThe main objective of this study is to determine the knowledge of the handling of surgical instruments before their delivery to the sterilization center in the nursing technical staff of the hospitalization services in a private clinic. The study has a non-experimental design of descriptive level and cross-section. It will be carried out on 60 nursing technicians of the aforementioned institution, in whom a virtual questionnaire prepared by the author of the study and made up of 15 multiple-choice items will be applied. The research variable considered is the level of knowledge on the handling of surgical instruments and includes three dimensions: general procedures, pre-washing and transfer.Ítem Acceso abierto Use of biological indicators in the control of sterilization of dental surgical instruments(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-03-25) Mori Pizarro, Ludit; Suaña Samán, Elizabeth Elisa; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the use of biological indicators in the control of sterilization of dental surgical instruments: Materials and methods: qualitative type of study design, systematic reviews. The 10 pieces of evidence found according to the type of research, 30% (3/10) are experimental, 10% (1/10) quasi-experimental and 60% (6/10) transversal, 30% of the evidence found comes from from Mexico and 20% from Brazil and 10% from Poland, Argentina, Iran, India and Venezuela respectively. Results: The results obtained from the systematic review show that, of the total of 10 articles reviewed, 100% (n=10/10) show that biological indicators are effective to ensure and guarantee the sterilization of dental surgical instruments, a process that It is in charge of specialist nurses in hospital sterilization centers and in the private sector. It is still a space that deserves more studies and will probably be another scenario for the work of specialist nurses in the future. Conclusion: The 10 reviewed articles are 100% effective in ensuring and guaranteeing the sterilization of dental surgical instruments, and the biological indicators allow the certification of quality in sterilization processes.
