Ítem Acceso abierto Dependence of the degree of severity of musculoskeletal disorders with the ergonomic factor during dental practice in the Ventanilla district - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-09-20) Esquivel Cuneo, Daniel Alejandro; Girano Castaños, Jorge AlbertoDue to daily work, difficulties arise in the musculoskeletal system that affect health within the workplace, especially in the dental field, as the dentist must use ergonomic factors to perform their work correctly. The aim of this study was to establish the dependence between the severity of musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomic factors in dental practice in the Ventanilla district, 2021. In this quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study, a simple random probabilistic sample of 120 licensed and registered dentists was selected, using a questionnaire with virtual questions through an online form. The results indicate that 7 dentists experience severe discomfort (>4 hours) while sitting in the ergonomic chair. It was determined that, among the sociodemographic characteristics of age, weight, sex, and height, 42.5% (51) were female, and 57.5% (69) were male, with ages ranging from 24 to 51 years and older. It was concluded that multiple ergonomic factors contribute to these injuries in the professional field, and a correlation between the injuries was found.
