    Patients treated at the Hermilio Valdizán Medrano Hospital in Huánuco, who present chronic kidney disease caused by a variety of chronic degenerative conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, are increasingly affected, representing 10% of the global population. Reticulocytes are immature erythrocytes in the final stages of differentiation. They derive from orthochromatic red blood cells, maturing in the bone marrow (average of 3 days) and peripheral blood (1 day). There are morphological and structural changes, and maturation results in a gradual decrease in RNA and ribosomal protein levels. This method is based on microscopic observation after staining with the supravital dye Brilliant Cresyl Blue. Manual reticulocyte counting is an available test used to evaluate erythropoiesis in blood disorders with altered erythropoietic activity.
