The objective of this study was to determine if there is a relationship between the frequency of Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) and the risk factors in neonates recorded at the "Carlos Lanfranco La Hoz" Hospital between 2005 and 2013, in the Puente Piedra district, Lima - Peru. Materials and Methods: The study was observational, descriptive, and retrospective. The research was conducted at the "Carlos Lanfranco La Hoz" Hospital and involved reviewing 41 medical records of neonates and their respective mothers registered between 2005 and 2013. The population consisted of all medical records of neonates with Cleft Lip and Palate and their respective mothers at the "Carlos Lanfranco La Hoz" Hospital from 2005 to 2013. The sample was obtained based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study, with evaluations of the medical records of the neonates diagnosed with CLP (41 records) and their mothers, based on data from the Hospital's Statistics Unit during 2005-2013. Results: The frequency of Cleft Lip and Palate was highest in Grade III with 65.85%, followed by Grade II with 24.39%, and Grade I with 9.75%. The male sex was more affected, comprising 70.73%, while 29.27% were female. No statistically significant association was found between CLP and the sex of the newborn. For variables such as family history, age of the parents, diseases during the first trimester of pregnancy, and the consumption of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes as risk factors for CLP, no significant statistical associations were found. Newborns with CLP were more frequently born to first-time mothers, but no statistically significant association was found. The nutritional status of the mothers was mostly inadequate at 80.49%, but no statistically significant association was found between CLP and maternal nutritional status.

EFICACIA DE LA LACTANCIA MATERNA EXCLUSIVA EN EL ESTADO NUTRICIONAL DEL NIÑO.

Objetivo: Sintetizar evidencias sobre la eficacia de la lactancia materna exclusiva en el estado nutricional en el niño. Material y Método: Las revisiones sistemáticas son el mejor esfuerzo por recopilar y sintetizar evidencia científica sobre un tema, a través de un método que asegure que los sesgos y limitaciones a los que hemos hecho mención en el artículo precedente de esta serie, sean los mínimos posibles, la población constituida por la revisión bibliográfica de 10 artículos científicos publicados e indizados en las bases de datos, que responden a artículos publicados en idioma español. Resultados: En la selección definitiva se eligieron 10 artículos, teniendo (02) revisiones sistemáticas, un meta-análisis; un estudio experimental, 2 estudios de casos y control y 4 estudios descriptivos transversales. Donde el total de artículos analizados el 90% afirma que si existe una eficacia entre la Lactancia materna exclusiva y el estado nutricional del niño, ya que protege al niño de padecer obesidad hasta la adolescencia, menor riesgo de morbi- mortalidad en el menor de 5 años. Conclusión: La lactancia materna exclusiva favorece un adecuado estado nutricional en aquellos niños a quienes se les brinda en el tiempo y forma adecuada

Estado nutricional y su relación con el desarrollo psicomotor en el área motora en niños de 3 y 4 años en el Centro Educativo Inicial San Judas Tadeo de Breña, Lima 2017.

Objetivo determinar el estado nutricional y su relación con el desarrollo psicomotor en el área motora en niños de 3 y 4 años que acuden al Centro Educativo Inicial San Judas Tadeo de Breña. El estudio fue correlacional, cuantitativo, transversal y observacional. La población consta de 67 niños. Para evaluar el estado nutricional se considera el peso y talla, y para el desarrollo psicomotor el TEPSI. Los resultados mostraron,en cuanto al estado nutricional que el 94% de los niños evaluados tiene peso normal, 3% desnutrición y 3% sobrepeso. En el desarrollo psicomotor el 94% tienen un desarrollo normal en el área motora, 3% riesgo y 3% retraso. Respecto a la relación entre ambas variables, utilizando la prueba estadística Coeficiente Correlacional de Spearman se demuestra que existe una baja correlación entre ambas variables debido a que el Rho de Spearman = 0.265; del total preescolares evaluados el 94 % presentan un estado nutricional normal, de estos el 89.5% muestran un desarrollo motor normal, 3% desarrollo motor en riesgo y 1.5% retraso. Conclusión, existe relación entre la variable 1 y la variable 2. En cuanto al estado nutricional la mayoría presenta peso normal, por otro lado, una minoría presenta desnutrición y sobrepeso. Con relación al desarrollo psicomotor en el área motora, el mayor porcentaje presenta un desarrollo normal, sólo un pequeño porcentaje está en riesgo y retraso

Estilos de vida saludable y estado nutricional en estudiantes de secundaria de una Institución Educativa de Magdalena del Mar, 2022

Objetivo: evaluar la relación entre estilos de vida saludable y estado nutricional en estudiantes de secundaria de una IE de Magdalena del Mar, 2022. La metodología fue cuantitativo, hipotético - deductivo, tipo aplicada, no experimental, correlacional y transversal; El instrumento fue un cuestionario de 25 preguntas en 120 estudiantes de secundaria. Para procesar los datos, se empleó el “SPSS v-25” y se realizó el análisis de las dimensiones de las variables “Estilos de vida saludable” y el “Estado nutricional”. Se realizó la prueba de normalidad para determinar el estadístico de correlación, se empleó Rho de Spearman para contrastar las hipótesis. Los resultados revelan, la relación saludable de la variable estilos de vida se asocia al nivel normal de la variable estado nutricional en 49.2% en 59 estudiantes, seguido de la relación no saludable de la variable estilos de vida con el nivel normal de la variable estado nutricional en 43.3% en 52 estudiantes. Las otras relaciones son menores 3.3%. El estudio llegó a la conclusión que, existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre estilos de vida saludable y estado nutricional en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa de magdalena del mar, 2022. 84 y Rho=0,2 significancia p=0,002

Factors associated with gestational anemia

Objective: To describe and analyze the scientific evidence on the factors related to gestational anemia. Materials and methods: This is a qualitative narrative study, carried out through the search of various articles related to the topic. A classification was performed, and ultimately, 25 studies from different academic sources were applied. Results: By analyzing the various studies, it can be determined that obstetric factors are the main causes for a pregnant woman to develop anemia throughout her pregnancy. Another important factor is the nutritional status, which is related to obstetric factors and gestational anemia or iron deficiency. Conclusion: The study shows that one of the most strongly associated factors is the obstetric and nutritional factors.

HÁBITOS DE VIDA Y ESTADO NUTRICIONAL EN ESCOLARES DE 8 A 12 AÑOS DE LA INSTITUCIÓN EDUCATIVA N° 3019 DEL RÍMAC, 2017

La investigación busco la asociación entre hábitos de vida y estado nutricional, en escolares de 8 a 12 años de la I. E. N° 3019 Rímac, 2017. Es un estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, diseño correlacional y transversal, con una población de 153 estudiantes del 2do al 6to grado de primaria, se obtuvo los resultados: el 49% (n=75) con hábitos vida suficientes, un 41.8% (n=64) hábitos de vida deficientes y solo un 9.2%(n=14) hábitos vida saludables. El 73.9% (n=113) tienen un estado nutricional normal, un 19%(n=29) sobrepeso y un 7.2%(n=11) obesidad. Del total de estudiantes con sobre peso la mayoría 62,1%(n=18) tiene hábitos de vida suficientes. Llegando a la conclusión que no existe asociación entre hábitos de vida y estado nutricional.

Lifestyle and its relationship with nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension at the Huaycán Hospital Lima 2023

To analyze the relationship between lifestyle and nutritional status in elderly patients with arterial hypertension at the Hospital de Huaycán Lima 2023. Methodology: A quantitative, applied, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional study approach was developed; The population consisted of 84 elderly patients with arterial hypertension at the Huaycán Hospital in Lima in 2023. They formed the sample. Results. The age of the older adults is 71 years or older in 46%; in sex there is Male in 56% and Female in 44%; In the degree of instruction there is complete Primary in 21.4%. In the eating dimension of the lifestyle with the nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension, there is moderate malnutrition with unhealthy eating in 25%. In the stress management dimension of lifestyle with nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension, there is moderate malnutrition with healthy eating in 27.4%. In the interpersonal support dimension of lifestyle with nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension, there is moderate malnutrition with healthy eating in 36.9%. In the self-realization dimension of the lifestyle with the nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension, there is moderate malnutrition with unhealthy eating in 27.4%. In the health responsibility dimension of lifestyle with nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension, there is moderate malnutrition with healthy eating in 29.8%. In the lifestyle with the nutritional status in older adult patients with arterial hypertension, there is moderate malnutrition with healthy and unhealthy eating in 23.8%.

Maternal factors and nutritional status in children under 3 years of age in the context of a pandemic, in a Level III Health Center. Victory 2022

Objective: To determine the relationship between maternal factors and the nutritional status of children under 3 years old in the context of the pandemic, at a level III health center in La Victoria, 2022. Method: The study follows a quantitative approach with an observational, correlational design. Population and Sample: The population consists of 136 children, and a non-probabilistic convenience sampling method was used to select a sample of 100 children under 3 years old. Techniques and Instruments: The instruments on maternal factors and nutritional status were developed and validated by Licenciado Huarhua F. The first instrument is a questionnaire that measures maternal factors, consisting of 21 closed questions organized by dimensions (Biological, Sociocultural, Economic, and Environmental). The second instrument is an evaluation form that assesses nutritional status, consisting of 10 indicators divided into weight-for-age (W/A), weight-for-height (W/H), and height-for-age (H/A). Procedure and Data Analysis: The collected data will be coded and entered into an MS Excel database for subsequent statistical analysis using SPSS version 23. Results will be presented through tables and graphs, with the relationship between variables determined using Spearman's rho parametric correlation.

Relación entre el estado nutricional y el desarrollo psicomotor en preescolares de la Institución Educativa Integrada N.° 320 Señor de los Milagros, Rímac 2018

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el estado nutricional y el desarrollo psicomotor de los preescolares de la Institución Educativa Integrada No. 320 Señor de los Milagros, Rímac 2018. Método: Enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal. Participaron 110 preescolares. En cuanto a los instrumentos se utilizaron la ficha de registro de peso y talla, las curvas de crecimiento de valoración antropométrica recomendadas por el Ministerio de salud y el Test de Desarrollo Psicomotor (TEPSI). Como resultados: el 30,9% presentó desnutrición crónica y el 12,7% presentó obesidad. En cuanto al desarrollo psicomotor general, se observa que el 60.9% fue normal se obtuvo por áreas, que en el área que presentó mejor desarrollo psicomotor fueron, el área de motricidad con 75,5% y las áreas que presentaron mayor riesgo fue el área de coordinación 38,2% y retraso fue el área de lenguaje 11,8%. Conclusiones: Existe correlación entre el estado nutricional y desarrollo psicomotor, es decir entre el indicador talla/edad y el desarrollo psicomotor se halló relación estadísticamente significativa con un p-valor de 0,000 (p<0,05), y en el indicador peso/talla y el desarrollo psicomotor se halló relación estadísticamente significativa con un p-valor de 0,002 (p<0,05). No se halló relación con el indicador peso/edad.

Relationship between nutritional status and dental eruption of the upper central incisor in schoolchildren of an educational institution, Huancayo 2023

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the eruption of the upper central incisor in schoolchildren from an educational institution, Huancayo 2023. The study included 100 schoolchildren from the "María Auxiliadora" Educational Institution 30179. The study design was non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional. The variables of nutritional status and eruption of the incisor were analyzed using BMI and Sato's classification, respectively. The observation technique was used, and a data collection form was the instrument. Most of the students (57%) were classified as having normal weight, followed by those at risk of malnutrition. Similarly, both sexes had normal nutritional status. The majority in each age group were classified as normal weight, especially prominent in 7-year-old children (30%). On the other hand, for both upper central incisors (right and left), the majority of cases were classified as Code VI (54%), in contrast to the lower central incisors (right and left), which were mostly classified as Code VI (88%). For both sexes, the most common category was Code VI, indicating complete eruption. In older ages, more advanced eruption levels (Code VI) were more prevalent, indicating complete eruption. It is concluded that there is a significant positive correlation between nutritional status and the eruption of the upper and lower left central incisors in schoolchildren from an educational institution, Huancayo 2023.

Relationship between oral diseases and the nutritional status of children from Institución Educativa 3040 Veinte de Abril in the district of Los Olivos

This study is observational, descriptive, prospective, and cross-sectional; with a correlational level. The general objective was to determine the relationship between oral diseases and nutritional status in children from the 3040 Veinte de Abril Educational Institution in the Los Olivos district. Clinical dental examinations were conducted on the students, and their height and weight were recorded to identify their nutritional status. The sample size was determined through sample calculation, with a minimum of 107 children required for a reliable study. Therefore, a sample of 153 children from the educational institution who wished to participate and had informed consent from their parents or guardians was selected. Results: The results showed that 1.3% of the children were obese, 3.3% were overweight, and 42.5% had normal nutritional status, while 52.9% were underweight. It was also found that 50.3% of the children exhibited gingival bleeding, while 49.7% did not. Regarding the prevalence of dental caries, 95.4% of the children had dental caries, and 4.6% did not. Conclusion: The children from the 3040 Veinte de Abril Educational Institution in the Los Olivos district showed a greater relationship between overweight children and gingival bleeding, normal-weight children and gingival bleeding, and underweight children without gingival bleeding.
