Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence and its relationship with humanized care in students of the intensive care specialty at Norbert Wiener University, Lima March – 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-13) Caro Cordova, Zulma Elizabeth; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeObjective: Determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and humanized care in students of the intensive care specialty at Norbert Wiener University. Lima –2019. Material and Method: The method is quantitative, cross-sectional correlational, we worked with a population of 97 students from the intensive care specialty of the Norbert Wiener University. The data collection technique was the survey, the instrument; Trait Emotional Intelligence questionnaire (Short Version) (TEIQue-SF), for Humanized Care, the Caring Ability inventory (CAI) questionnaire proposed by Ngozi Nkongho in 1990. Results: The level of emotional intelligence was obtained in 96.9% of the students of the intensive care specialty at the Norbert Wiener University, Lima; they show average emotional intelligence; and other students high with 3.1%. At the Humanized Care level, 73.2% of the students in the intensive care specialty show a medium level, while 26.8% show a high level. Conclusions: There is a direct correlation between emotional intelligence and humanized care in students of the intensive care specialty at the Norbert Wiener University, Lima, 2019, which means that the emotional stability of the nurse has an impact on the humanized care towards patients.
