Results: According to the review carried out, six of the studies and basically systematic reviews (16,17,18,19,24,25) agree regarding the effectiveness of breastfeeding to reduce pain in newborns, meanwhile the authors of The articles (Simonse Eva et al, IA Duro et al, Ribeiro L et al, Hernández A.) maintain a position in the sense that there is still insufficient scientific evidence regarding the analgesic effect of breastfeeding in the newborn. born. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 60% (n=06/10) show the effectiveness of breastfeeding in controlling newborn pain, while 40% (n=04/10) express that there is no evidence sufficient scientific evidence to recommend breastfeeding as an effective intervention to reduce pain in newborns undergoing a painful procedure. Breastfeeding is natural, practical, reduces pain and encourages attachment and does not have hyperosmolarity, thus reducing adverse effects in neonates undergoing painful procedures.
