Anemia is a public health problem primarily caused by iron deficiency, affecting children's cognitive and motor development. Anemia is defined as a decrease in hemoglobin below the reference value, although tests such as hematocrit or red blood cell count can also be used. However, to evaluate the body's iron stores, it is necessary to measure other tests such as serum iron and serum ferritin. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between serum iron levels and serum ferritin levels in school-age children with iron-deficiency anemia from the Inmaculada Concepción de la Santísima Virgen del Rosario school in the Pachacutec district of Lima Province. The research was a non-experimental, cross-sectional type, with a total of 182 children between the ages of 2 and 12 participating. The tests used to determine iron-deficiency anemia were hemoglobin, hematocrit, red blood cell count, serum ferritin, and serum iron. The statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics 25 was used for data analysis. Results: It was observed that 8.8% of the schoolchildren had iron-deficiency anemia. The serum ferritin and iron levels in 9.3% of the children were simultaneously decreased and had a direct and significant relationship (Rho = +0.285). Conclusion: It was concluded that children with iron-deficiency anemia had serum ferritin and iron levels below the reference values, and that the results of these two tests were related to each other.
