This condition considerably affects the kidneys, causing deficiencies in blood filtration, extensively damaging these organs; For this reason, waste and abundant liquids from the blood are stored in the body, causing other problems in the individual's health; Therefore, it is necessary to start renal replacement treatment such as hemodialysis urgently. For this, it is necessary to create a vascular access such as the arteriovenous fistula that facilitates said treatment. The patient, who has this arteriovenous fistula, needs to know the corresponding care for his arteriovenous fistula in order to avoid complications and guarantee its functioning. Therefore, the objective of the work is: Determine the level of knowledge about self-care of arteriovenous fistula in patients at the San Juan Masías dialysis center - Lima, 2020.
