    Infestation by demodex folliculorum associated with blepharitis in patients of the D'Opeluce eye clinic, Peru 2023

    Introduction: Demodex folliculorum is a human-specific agent that often triggers global occurrences and can live alongside us in many instances without causing discomfort. However, due to infection, inflammation of the affected area can occur, leading to the appearance of blepharitis and, in some cases, other conditions like chalazions. Objective: To determine the relationship between Demodex folliculorum infestation and blepharitis in patients treated at the D'Opeluce Eye Clinic. Materials and Methods: A non-experimental observational correlational study applied to 100 patients with a non-probabilistic convenience sampling method, who underwent eyelash examination regardless of whether they had blepharitis.
